We have played the Shrimps just 8 times since 2011, W5, D1, L2, We have won 3-4 and lost 0-3.
They play at the Mazuma Stadium since 2010, which has a capacity of 6,476 replacing the old Christie Park stadium.
Their bitter rivals are Accrington Stanley, others include Fleetwood, Lancaster, Barrow, Kendal & Southport.
Ex BRFC goalkeeper Adam Smith is in their current squad, playing 36 games for us a few seasons ago.
Manager Derek Adams in his 2nd spell has managed Morecambe in over 100 games.
Morecambe are 1 from bottom in the table without a win in the 6 games played so far.

You were doing really well with a nice clear informative report until your last sentence ‘kiss of death’.

Eric Morecambe, promoted the seaside town of Morecambe by being Eric Morecambe.
There's a statue of the great man on the seafront ,unveiled by Queen Elizabeth.
Apparently Morecambe FC will be defensive,as Shrewsbury were. This is okay by me and perhaps to be expected, but the cheating feigning of injury I certainly don't want to see.
Anymore of that, then come ht Joe maybe asking us "what do you think of it so far?"
In unison we'll all respond with a mighty "RUBBISH!"
It's up to Rovers to break down the Shrimps 'wall'.
I think the "short fat hairy legs" of Sam Finley will start today.
Our newly signed winger might hold the key to a goal.
Keep at em,show patience and don't get caught with a sucker punch.
Did somebody cough? "ARSENAL "!
Come on Rovers.
Edit. Britains greatest current sportsperson and working class hero Tyson Fury is the sponsor of the Shrimps home and away shorts.Hopefully this bodes well on the dreaded "feigning of injury" front.Any Morecambe player down, apparently finished,on hearing a Gashead count a la boxing referee, will surely rise by 9.

Rerun of last Saturday then Bas? Could be Rich, but hopefully this week the ball will hit the back of the oppositions net, rather than the post. I get the defensive thing and let's face it Rovers waste time near ft, guarding a lead,eg,holding the ball by the corner flag. Not that l like this tactic. It's the feigning of injury that annoys.

Absolutely - If its not a head injury the ref should play on UTG

We could do with another Mark O'Connor from the mid 80's who played in 99 games for us, a wonderful player and could cross a ball.

I'm sure he scored at Ashton Gate Ebus,a looping header. Not sure it was outside the box,may of been.

I'm going to break ranks here and say poor pre match interview by JAB.
Just want to cringe.
Everyone empathises with trying to play football, but don't be hypocritical about it, gamesmanship runs both ways we do it too, as does all teams, it's just Shrewsbury took it to another level and was effective.....and that's the sticking point....it worked.
It's up to his management team and nouse to work a way around it and hand them their @rses back to them to boot.
Also, I think we've had an average transfer window with most Gas excitement at AE & JC re-signing, with AE arguably off form and the latter sick note....along with 3 loan signings (1 of which injured!?) and unproven. Even return of the Mac isn't fully fit, and Flash Gordon hasn't inspired yet because it's been quickly worked out he only has one leg! Show him a different way and he's quickly put himself in a cul de sac.
We all have faith we'll end up higher than we truly predict, and it's about winning these sorts of bread and butter matches. By any means.
I'll plump for a 1-0 scrappy win. Maybe scrappy enough to make the average fan flippin Tyson Furious. Us dominating possession, but them looking dangerous on counter. Oh and what a Stockton find? We gotta watch 'eeeee. 8919, with some bright Charlie singing to away fans YOUR SUPPORT IS F S...
As ever, enjoy the match Gas safe travels and drinking and as ever UptheGas!
See you the other side...

Remember him playing ( maybe his debut?) away at Swindon in the League Cup. Think we won about 5-1? He was signed following the tragic death of Mickey Barrett.

Rovers having the best of things, but anything could happen. Great goal for the Erics! Rovers hit post at start and finish of half. Lofty doing alright. Attacking Thatchers next, with a favourable wind.

That was dreadful. There are players out of position (through necessity maybe), some look disinterested and some like they've forgotten how to play.
Men of the match to me were Bobby T, Sylvester Jasper and for his workrate alone, Aaron Collins. The rest of them had a very bad day.
Anyway, onwards and upwards. Couple of easy away wins to come at Franchise and Portman Road. Umm.
