Utterly appalling. No need to do that in any circumstance whatsoever and likely would have cost us the point we did get if spotted by the match officials at the time. Isn’t that his second suspension this season? Would be better for everyone if he focussed on his performances on the pitch rather than trying to seriously injure someone in a really sly and underhand way. Will be interesting to see how Barton deals with this It would certainly be interesting, not least because Barton spent his whole playing career doing stuff like this. Fleetwood - who Rossiter used to captain and JB used to manage - were also notorious for this kind of stuff. Rossiter would simply need to point this out and JB would be - mercifully and surely for the first time in recorded human history - lost for words. Don`t see why Barton should be lost for words. He could simply point out to Rossiter, that he ( Barton ) had paid a price for all his transgressions on and off the pitch, and that Rossiter must now do the same.

One of the premises in offering advice like this is that the receiving person will show a willingness to learn from their mistakes and change their behaviour accordingly. Has JB ever done this? Perhaps the best advice he could give to others is to do the exact opposite of what he has done. And JB quite transparently hasn't paid a price for all of his transgressions off the pitch and won't in the future - the benefits of a good lawyer.

From what i see after playing and pausing the clip a great many time is their player handling the ball and our player using his elbow to knock the ball away from him. And yet you somehow missed Rossiter's post-event reaction, which suggests he is fully aware that he has stupidly led with an elbow and expects to get sent off? 'There are none so blind as those who will not see.' He only reacted once he realised that their players were appealing to get him booked or red carded. Some folk are so blinkered.

Another who only accepts jury verdicts that suit their agenda. Thank goodness for innocent until proven guilty, as you Judge Jefferies acolytes would drag us back to feudal times.

Next time we play Shrewsbury at home, one of the pre match songs played has to be Elvis Costello's, 'I can't stand up for falling down'

A brilliant tune but so so short at 2 mins & 5 seconds, the B side was 'Girls Talk' at 1 minute 56 seconds. Elvis had 32 studio albums and 62 singles but never a number 1 of either in the UK.

Looks like you are right but doesn't change my view that this was an utterly awful premeditated and cowardly assault on a player who wouldn't have seen it coming. Could have caused serious harm and we’d all be outraged if it was done to one of ours.

Just read Joeys pre match rant about what’s wrong with football. Some home truths for Mr Cotterill in there. I’m sure he’ll be criticised by the usual pundits for lack of respect - but for me he’s refreshing and absolutely spot on

Can`t imagine many people being overly happy about having you as a juror, at their trial. You seem very much a, "Give`em a fair trial, and then hang`em," type person.

My hope is, the transfer window business JB has been able to complete will turn out to be sufficient to enable us to win games ‘inspite of the ref’ UTG
