We’re definitely 2 or 3 players short. Let’s hope Barton’s black book of scouser footballers unearths a few more game changers.

Not sure what planet the officials were from.
Shrewsbury by far the most cynical, cheating bunch of a disgrace to their profession that we've had the "pleasure" to play for some while.
Even Luke McCormick behind us couldn't be arsed to watch.
UTFG and bring on Morecambe.

Shrewsbury came for a point and got one, and deserved it. My gripe is the way they went about it Unbelievably negative with Gamesmans**t on an industrial scale. Players apparently shot time and time again until the snipper ran out of bullets.
We will take the point - dust ourselves down - and move on ( dc eat your heart up) next up bottom of the table Morecambe three Points please to ring fence mid table slot whilst JB recruit the players required for the Gas to push for playoffs.

Horrible tactics from Cotterills Shrews, going down 'injured' at every opportunity.
7 mins et in first half,6 in the second.
Nice for Lofty to score, although a weeks training on heading with Alfie could be a good idea.Talking of Alfie he looked solid winning tackles, headers and blocking the ball.Passing he looked less confident, although better in the 2nd half.
Fingers crossed on signing those new players. Joe very much wants them.

Can only pass to players that create angles and are in space.

Can only pass to players that create angles and are in space. yeah we didn’t transition very well, the tent held the ball at times but was so alone out devoid of many options as Collins had quiet game, but really it’s for midfield to hold ball whilst attack look for pockets of space, relegation looking Salop let off hook by a flat Rovers performance, is that fair to say? what I remember of McCormick, he will be busy in midfield, he had a goal or two in him as well. I still wouldn’t rule out a play off push.

This is still the 'experimental' stage.
I think we'll improve.
I think we'll improve more if Joe can sign the players he wants.

Stats: BRFC 1 Shrewsbury 1 - Shots 9-20 - On Target 2-5 - Corners 4-9 - Fouls 12-9 - Yellows 1-1 - Referee Sam Purkiss - Attendance: 8,570.
Match Report:
Shrewsbury striker Ryan Bowman played the role of super-sub to perfection to rescue a point with a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Ground.
The visitors seemed to be heading for defeat after fellow replacement Ryan Loft had put Joey Barton's side ahead midway through the second half, only for Bowman to pop up with an 80th-minute leveller.
It was only after the break that the game sprang into life, after a scrappy first half that saw Rovers go closest to breaking the deadlock when Harry Anderson headed Anthony Evans' cross against Marko Marosi's right-hand post.
The Shropshire side should have gone ahead on 66 minutes but the unmarked Tom Bayliss saw his header comfortably saved by Jamie Belshaw, following George Nurse's inviting cross.
Tottenham academy product Loft made him pay when he slotted a low shot beyond Marko Marosi in the 68th minute - just seven minutes after entering the fray - after being superbly teed up by striker Aaron Collins.
But Bowman, who came on in the 54th minute, had the last word, knocking the ball in from close range following a goalmouth scramble to ensure a happy return to the West Country for Town's former Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill.

Unfortunately I dropped and was seen by the medics so I never saw either goal but , from what I saw , in the first half I was not impressed at all. It was a poor game in that half. I spent at least half an hour with medics. Heat got to me. Will not be doing East again

It's why I started the 'bring your own cold drink' thread the other week. Come October once the temperature drops the ET should be okay. Actually, what we then get is jackets and jumpers off first half, then once the sun disappears behind the West Stand 'Victorian cricket pavillion' (just behind Box 1-ish),the warmer clothes go on and more or less in unison, we all comment on how it gets 'quite chilly once the sun has 'gone' down'. West Country folk en-us.🙂

Of late it’s been one thing after another and I admit to feeling sorry for myself I was supposed to go to church as a mass is being said for dad ( RIP) and it’s customary to attend but I can’t, especially as I now have had some oramorph. I was very lucky that the medics did not push me to go to hospital, as they wanted to do. Anyway. Anything significant and I will message you as I doubt most wish to hear this, on this thread. Thanks for asking fella. Never easy with 3 chronic conditions mate. I am so tired, mentally. I just would like to sleep. I am really not feeling any joy of late. Take care and look after yourself Julian

Take care and look after yourself Julian Hmm.Sounds as if your Crohn may of become active Julian.Yes,get help asap. By coincidence mine has just started playing up abit, but I can usually sort that myself. I have always found it seasonal my friend. I find Springtime the worst but I found this out but after my diagnosis. I am positive o was suffering from it for at least 5/7 years prior but kept going by the reactions, or lack of, when I got the courage to talk about it, openly and hoping someone may give me some good advice but , what I did get was laughing, called a hypochondriac and much worse and so I just stopped talking. This ended up and this is the kicker here, is that I awoke in a bed covered in blood and in hospital and our opponents were Shrewsbury, in the play off final. I do sometimes wonder if our body has its own kind of RAM inbuilt memory and that we have certain trigger points. As I write, I am starting to feel a fever building and I have called 101. They told me they will try to contact one of the IBD specialist nurses. Man to man, I feel really very unwell and attempting to engage with others at least takes my mind off it, for that period where I am reading or writing on things that interest me. Thanks again fella. I have a horrible feeling that I will be in hospital, either today or tomorrow as the pain in just too much to disregard and I daren’t take any prednisolone as that would mess up all and any blood tests and I would have to wait around 7/10 days to get a true reflection of the level of inflammation The good lady informs me that my eyes are bloodshot and that I look drunk. I am so very grateful that , at least, I have her to give me an unbiased opinion As I previously said, I just have an horrid feeling that there is more to this than just the IBD. I am not scared but I do get , and have an healthy respect for pain and I am in great pain. My own view, based upon 15 years from diagnosis, is either fistula or the C word. At best I think I am looking at toxic megacolon and, at worst, a growth. My entire male side of the family and extended family is rife with growths, tumours and strokes and so I kind of automatically think of that when I get pain. Saying all of that, I have NEVER EVER known such pain , down to the IBD. My apologies to others reading this interruption as I really do not wish to make this about me. I just find it a little more comforting when talking to someone else who had it. I have no been web searching as it would only give me the fear. I just have to hope it’s nowhere near what I believe it to be. My next option is fentanyl but I have to wait for my wonderful woman to be here, IF I go that route. I will not be posting if that happens as I write enough crap as it is 🤣🤣. My lady has many such texts, that I have tried to write while high on it. I can laugh now but reading it is the stuff of fantasy and in a language only the departed could possibly decipher. Take care mate. I will go to PM if there is need to reply. Believe it or not, I do make a big effort not to write about my own and not insignificant problems as, let’s face it, the majority do not wish to read it and I do understand Kind regards Julian S Pirog
