We wore a well organised Salford City down, with our passing in the sun.
I thought for the last third of the first half all the way to the ft whistle,we were the better team, although Salford looked capable of catching us out.
So many good performances. The two centre half,Coutts,Anderson,Billy of course and fair play,he deserved his MOTM,great finish.Decent cameos by Anthony Evans and Thomas, the latter passing nicely to Billy that led to the goal.
Gasheads played their part today.Singing from all sides!Fair play to those in the tend end ,because having lost the toss,we were facing that end in the second half, but the racket they made must of encouraged the lads.
A very good day for Rovers.
Well done to Joe and Co.

Deserved win, don't recall Belly making any saves of note and when their press faded we controlled the second half. Thought we saw the game out well after scoring. Three points got and what a great atmosphere today, loved it. UTG.

Our defence was a concern in the 1st half.

We hit the bar and went close twice in the first half and scored, so still think we deserved it.

Great support at the Mem today.
A togetherness between players, coaching staff and Gasheads.
Very loud at times.
After the ft whistle much appreciation from Gasheads to team, coaches and Joe.This reciprocated.
Good vibes at Rovers!

So.... with FGR due at the mem shortly and if BRFC take the full points, are they about to bottle a 12 point and at times a 15 point lead, to allow Exeter to go up as Champions?.... A four goal stuffing toady at relegation threatened Barrow certainly showing up the tension in the camp

Nice touch about an hour after the game with the four guys still mowing the pitch when JB comes out of the tunnel with four cold beers and hands them over to the grassheads and then heading back to tunnel pumped his chest to the delight of a young supporter.
Well done Gas Bring on Monday massive game on ifollow win it and, with a relatively easy run in, Autos beckon, however lose it and we going have to do it the hard way

Stats: BRFC 1 Salford 0 - 58% - 42% - Shots 16-9 - On Target 4-2 - Corners 9-4 - Fouls 7-12 - Yellows 3-3 - Reds 0-0 - Referee Dean Whitestone - Attendance 9,590
Match Report:
Bristol Rovers boosted their hopes of promotion with a win against Salford at the Memorial Stadium.
On-loan Newcastle midfielder Elliot Anderson drove in low at the near post on 75 minutes for his fifth league goal of the season after being set up by a fine pass from substitute Luke Thomas.
Joey B***** had to rejig his attack when striker Leon Clarke was withdrawn from the starting XI after getting injured in the warm-up. Sam Nicholson was brought in to replace him.
But it did not stop the Gas extending their unbeaten home run to 11 league games.
Matt Smith's header in the sixth minute tested Rovers goalkeeper James Belshaw at his near post, while Brandon Thomas-Asante volleyed over the bar on 20 minutes.
But that was as close as Salford came to scoring. Rovers substitute Antony Evans hit the crossbar in the second half, but the strike from Anderson, who has made a huge impression during his loan spell, eventually made the difference.
Rovers are fifth in League Two, five points behind the automatic promotion places with four matches to play.

Another totally deserved win. Salford huffed and puffed with no end product.
Coutts yet again was magnificent. He settles the entire team.

"They were going to comeback into it,with the wonderful crowd, noise and atmosphere ".
Gary Bowyer,Salford City Manager, on the Mem crowd and suggesting Gasheads very much lift their team.

( On the Auto call anyway ) my take, Port Vale will be very very very very very nervous about losing to us. Looking at our three fixtures, win at vale and we are on for 82 points, Vale would need 7 points from 9. Vale need to cling to a draw in that one and still need more work to get to 79.

What a glorious sunny day in Horfield. The Long cold winter has been way too long. The pitch looks immaculate, and The Mem is pretty full.
Really nice to see Gasheads stood opposite me in the old away terrace. The small number of Salford City fans in the east end of the South Stand certainly looked rammed in there, surrounded by noisy Gasheads.
Wonderful noisy fans at The Mem, for the first time I can remember we had singing STARTING in the South Stand. There was a piece of audio heaven for a while, with Irene being sung from the South Stand, then continued from the North Terrace, and back again. Our beloved song reverberated around The Mem in perfect panoramic stereo.
On to the game.
I felt Salford City played really well actually, and for large periods of the game stifled our normal possession game. The first half, especially, they contained us very well and were effective going forward.
It required an alert James Belshaw and a strong referee to keep Salford City at bay. They had at least one decent shout for a penalty. A soft penalty, but they have been given...
Salford were a very good looking side, attacking with pace and an effective aerial attack. We did very well not to concede, a testament to the quality of our defensive unit.
Only Josh Grant struggled defensively, but I like Josh and he adds more going forward. Salford City prevented Josh from making his usual runs up the wing, exposing his weaknesses.
The first half was fairly even in the end, with Salford City the happier going into the break.
I felt we did much better in the second half, and we were able to dominate possession and settled into our normal game which then started asking Salford City questions.
As we approached the last twenty minutes, the game was balanced on a knife edge, in a situation where a draw was no good for either team.
As always this season with this team, they never give up and you hoped that a late winner would come. Cometh the hour, cometh the man. Up steps boy wonder Elliot Anderson with another individual effort to send The Mem into an explosion of limbs and noise. Oh, that goal felt so good!!!!!!
I was slightly uncomfortable with the confrontation between the home fans and the away fans in the South Stand following the goal. Fully understandable, it was a super emotional occasion. Fair play to Salford City, their fans did not bite. Another set of visiting fans could have had a different outcome.
Something for the club to think about, I guess. The segregation zone was minimal. I like the fact that the away fans are limited to the east part of the South Stand.
Massive, massive three points for us, which just about keeps us on the tail of Port Vale. If we can win there on Monday then the automatics are on.
Happy, happy days. UTG!
