Another home game tomorrow. We're 10 games unbeaten at home and haven't conceded many in that time.
With Anthony Evans looking like he'll play a part, we should be too strong for the mob from the Dirty Old Town.
Onwards and upwards. UTG. 🏴☠️

Another must win game, just to keep our playoff hopes alive. We will likely fall out of the playoffs if we lose tomorrow.
We really should be beating Salford City at home, but they are up there on merit so it will be tough.

Salford City were founded in 1940, they are known as the Ammies, they play at Moor Lane which has a capacity of 5,106 and are owned by Project 92 ltd.
Manager Gary Bowyer had his playing career ended through injury at 25, has managed Blackburn, Blackpool, Bradford and now Salford since may 2021.
They walk out at home games to the Pogues' 'Dirty Old Town', the club has three mascots, a pride of Lions named Bobby, Billy and Babs.
Many of us know the owners are the class of 92, Beckham, Butt, Giggs, Scholes, The Neville's and business magnate Peter Lim.
Matt Smith ex BC82Ltd is their 6ft 6in striker who has scored over 100 goals in just over 400 games.
Our last & only game v Salford was a 1-1 draw, with us leading & Salford down to 9 men they scored in the 95th minute with their only shot on target.

Salford will bring an army of fanatics. It’s going to be like a home game for them.
I think this should be seen as lower league versus premiership millionaires.
I hope we tonk them

Makes no sense that the Salford fans cannot purchase tickets on the day, if it is right about 150-200 will be travelling, utter shambles.

Oh dear, how sad, never mind. They sold 100. We sold an additional 800 by shifting them. Plastic club (Eccles FC, not us)

Plastic club (Eccles FC, not us) I must confess that I feel if they had only sold a hundred then they do protest too much. But, what on earth are we doing allowing away fans to pay on the day in the first place?

I think this is a bit OTT from Salford. Rovers firstly allocated the entire away section then when it became clear that they did not require the full area reduced it accordingly and allowed people that had bought terrace standing to move into the seated area. That seems pretty fair. If, as the good Doctor says, this allows 800 additional home fans then we should applaud that decision. Imagine the flack the club would get for not being so pro-active and had left a virtually empty section with hundreds of Gas unable to get in. Back to Salfords reaction - yes a few fans that had not yet bought terrace tickets have been disadvantages as only seared more expensive tickets are left. Finally if the home allocation is sold out you simply cannot allow pay on the day for the away end due to segregation issues - I’m pretty sure the Police would not allow it anyway. Again, how many people were affected by this decision - surely if I found out on Thursday there is no pay on the day Friday I would go on line and buy my ticket. Recently one of our away fixtures was changed to and from Pay on the day by the home side. BRFC apologised to our fans saying sorry, beyond our control, and not slagging off the other club. A lot of things go on behind the scenes that none of us are aware of - it’s not a shambles - it’s reacting in a positive way to changing circumstances.

Just seen this tweet from TG, Salford fans might be better off looking at their own club first.
Tom Gorringe @thgorringe Not true at all. Fans come first in everything we do. This has occurred because Salford gave us the wrong sales figures and when corrected there wasn’t any tickets to sell on they day. They were aware of this hours before the announcement…we can’t sell tickets that don’t have. 9:33 PM · Apr 14, 2022 66 Reply Share

On a side note who would suddenly decide to go on the day on Good Friday, probably would have to travel Thurs to avoid all the travelling issues.

I think we'll win comfortably today. On the other hand, my gut has never felt quite right.
