If we win our last three games I think we'll make the automatics as all the other teams competing for that third spot have at least one or two tricky fixtures where they could drop points.
On our current form, I'm confident we will beat Rochdale (a) and Scunthorpe (h) so in theory that's 2-1 odds on us beating FGR.
Not bad odds I'd say.
Not that I'm putting anything on it.

Understandably. I still think it’s possible but the odds-people are businessmen not gasheads! UTG!

So that's it. We now know what we have to do on Saturday. Just score 5 goals more than Northampton (assuming we both win). Am I correct in saying that if GD is the same then it becomes who has scored the most goals? If so, that'll be us. Sound the bugle and charge from the first minute !

It is a shame that we are not facing up to the cobblers for the last game now, I think that I would of fancied our chances a little more than I do at the moment if that had been the case. Oh well, let’s hope we can pop seven past Scunny, that might do it !

We might need something similar for the whole second half next Saturday

Top 3 finish: (April 24th) UPDATED May 1st Updated May 3rd FGR promoted FGR promoted FGR promoted Exeter 1-100 Exeter promoted Exeter promoted Northampton 5-4 (1.25) 7-5 (1.4) 4-7 Port Vale 11-4 (2.75) 10-3 (3.333) 40-1 Rovers 5-1 (5) 15-8 (1.875) 13-8 Mansfield 8-1 (8) 10-3 (3.333) 25-1 Sutton 25-1 500-1 na Swindon 175-1 225-1 200-1 Newport 500-1 na na Salford 500-1 na na Tranmere 500-1 na na Rovers were as wide as 40-1 as recently as 22nd Feb. At this point I would have to congratulate baselswh for his belief that the team were capable of going on a run and making the play-offs. He was pretty much a lone voice. I thought at the time he was insane. (I still do ). He was right though.

Some more of us since late January have been predicting a top 7, or 3 finish, in more optimistic moments.
As for betting odds, they still perplex me, as have no clue about gambling. For example, why are there ever odds on BCFC getting to the Premiership? Pointless exercise.
On to Saturday, if we can repeat the 37 or so shots on goal we had against Dagenham and Redbridge, then Northampton will finish 4th.

UTFG. 🏴☠️ To be fair Dr - you were optimistic about the play-offs when Rovers were mid-table and around the time they were 40-1 for a top 3 finish. As for long odds... they do come in occasionally. Only ever worth a couple of quid. Odds on BCFC1982 getting to the premiersh*t at the start of the season probably 50-1, maybe even 100-1. Odds on Leicester winning the premiersh*t a few years back were 5000-1. It's a funny old game.
