I don't think so. I'll concede "God Save the Queen" and "Anarchy in the U.K". Add to that "Pretty Vacant", and the job is done. "C'mon Everybody" is a poor copy of an Eddie Cochrane classic and was released after the band imploded and Sid Vicious had died. Fun fact: Top chart position of Anarchy in the UK was only 38. Could have sworn that was top 10. But it was a frightening 43 years ago.

Totally agree about "C'mon Everybody", a poor write up to copy and paste, your fun fact of "Anarchy in the UK" was in fact a number 38 single. They had in fact 7 top 8 singles, "God Save the Queen" reached No. 1 on the NME charts in the United Kingdom, and made it to No. 2 on the official UK Singles Chart as used by the BBC. This led to accusations by some that the charts had been "fixed" to prevent the song from reaching No. 1. On Piers Morgan Live in 2015, in response to the song's backlash from those who loved the Queen, Lydon stated: "I never said I didn't either, I just don't like the institution". Johnny only sang on the first 4 single releases in the UK charts.

The Pistols 45s were Anarchy,Pretty Vacant,Holidat8in the Sun and God Save the Queen. B side to Holiday being Satellite, maybe my favourite. Pistols recorded one album and it was sensationally good.Great songs,a nutter screaming, brilliant Steve Jones big guitar sound ,etc. As a fan i always thought it shame one or two more albums were'nt recorded, but it was'nt to be. As for John,I've read his book and liked it.I like him, imperfections and all. He records PIL stuff in a studio up in the Cotswolds. Edit. Anarchy in the UK was I think number 1 in the John Peel Festive 50 chart a few times.

Good to hear from a fellow fan, i was just a bit to young when they 1st come on the scene, but i have bought, played & read everything to death since, in the last 20 years. Went to see them at the IOW Festival in 2008, other headliners were The Police and The Kaiser Chiefs, along with The Kooks, Iggy, Stranglers & Ian Brown, a no brainer. Steve Jones is so underrated as a guitarist and the same for the brilliant Drummer Paul Cook, Johnny is Johnny, they broke the mould into a 1000 pieces with him. My favourite Pistols track is Pretty Vacant.

My favourite Pistols track is Pretty Vacant. Not forgetting Glen ay BT. He came up with many of the riffs. I thought the video of Pretty Vacant, done for TOTP,excellent. I think I first heard the LP in 78.Thats the year, not the rpm of the vinyl 🙂 Played it once and thought that's interesting. Twice and thought, I like. 3rd time ,loved it.Got it/something. Literally changed my life. The album is arguably the best 'rock' LP ever. I only saw the Pistols once ,at Brixton,I can't remember the year,2004?That's a guess. Loved it.Like seeing old friends, although I've never met them. Shame how they've fallen out,but John and Steve hav'nt got on for years. A life changing band.

Yes, Of course Glen Matlock who was too good and with Johhny hating his liking of The Beatles and The Faces had to leave. The group were firstly QT Jones and the Sex Pistols, frontmen considered were Midge Ure, Sylvain Sylvain & Richard Hell, then along came Johnny and his short green hair. I think you may mean the Brixton Academy on the 10th November 2007, they were opening their gigs with "There'll Always Be an England", leading into Pretty Vacant. There'll Always Be an England the dvd by the pistols is a mix of the 5 gigs at Brixton, a great dvd with superb extras, Johnny takes us on a tour bus around London. What i like about John is his honesty, he always credited ALL of the band members with the creation of their songs, a shame Gary Kemp could not do similar. Correct a mundo - they were truely a life changing band.

Fair play, yes,I think it was a Cup game and I think a Memorial Service was held at Brisbane Road.

When you are a pioneer in anything but especially music there is always resistance, the Pistols and a few others were the frontrunners of the movement that became Punk. A lot of Punk was dreadful but bands like, The Pistols, Clash, Stranglers, UK Subs, X-Ray Spex, Damned, Sham 69, Undertones, Ramones & others wrote some great tunes.

Not sure about the Undertones. Teenage Kicks. Teenage Kicks was the most perfect song ever written, said John Peel, he even had it played at his funeral & parts of the lyrics were put on his headstone. Jimmy Jimmy, My Perfect Cousin, Wednesday Week and Here comes the Summer were all good high energy songs.

Do you remember That Petrol Emotion.Their Big Decision song Undertones people.

No, never heard of That Petrol Emotion, will have to look them up on you tube. Damian and John O'Neill from the Undertones in TPE. I can't say I heard much more than the song mentioned BT.
