Terry Paine played in 808 games for the Saints scoring 183 goals as a forward, Terry is 82 years old and still going strong. Terry also played 19 games for England scoring 7 times from 1963-66 and was in the 1966 World Cup squad, played v Mexico. I saw Terry Paine play for Hereford United v Aldershot, about 74/75. Terry played for Hereford over 100 times, whilst there won the 3rd division & the Welsh Cup both in the 1975-76 season. He is 1 of only 22 English players that can put 'Won the World Cup' on their cv's.

I thought you were going to ignore me. You could at least be a man of your word Do you have a life? Great result, outplayed them and getting the full squad back to fitness. OK, Barton has to take responsibility for last season and for training methods that gave us injury issues. Conversely, he needs to be given the plaudits for getting a squad playing consistently good football and having a togetherness we haven't seen for years. Anyone who denies that a) is churlish and b) doesn't actually watch Rovers. Good upward surges stem from a defining moment of growth that turns chaotic togetherness into order and stability. I thought the two late goals against Hartlepool was such a moment and fully expected the team to build on that with a corner-turning performance against Swindon. But alas, the jittery chaos still abounds and it'll soon need a magnificent run to get anywhere near the playoff positions.

I know what I was going to say...
The team exuded confidence yesterday, its not something I've noticed in us before, they just just had a collective relaxed, confident feel.

I read it as a bit Vic and Bob-ish in humour I'm thinking that the poster lives in Wiltshire, and that Swindon must be in the 'top right hand corner' of Wiltshire (I haven't checked/didn't know) The poster is saying that Swindonians (if that's the right word) must be happy to live there as it's in Wiltshire. The alternative would be to cut Swindon out of Wiltshire, which wouldn't please anyone as it would be like the top right hand corner which is cut off of old passports. Which I thought was a good visual gag, plus the fact that Swindonians would no longer be entitled to a 'Wiltshire passport' so quite clever really. Unless I've over-thunk it!

I think it's a Remainer comparing the UKs Brexit and therefore disappearance from the EU map, to Swindon not 'disappearing' from the map of Wiltshire. Abit of modern h I s t o r y.

Abit of modern h I s t o r y. can we pull down the Don Rogers statue then He was a great player and a credit to that club. In putting up that statue they are ahead of us and i don't think we can make the same comparisons that we used to. They seems to always have someone waiting to buy the club and put money into it and, as Swindon gets bigger, their fans are starting to come and they are now attracting younger fans too. As i have previously said, i never have had a second club so i don’t know if i am right but i think there made the old first division, something we cannot say. Bristol really is seriously underperforming in not having a premier league team and, even with all of the money at the 82 disposal, they haven’t got back there. I honestly think that Swindon could get there before the 82, i dont even dream of it, for us. Anyway, i applaud them in putting that statue up.

Your beginning to overthink things KP Maybe true but it would be nice to at least know how Bartons friends and especially his minder/agent/bestie, is being paid. It would clear a lot of things up. I think that by not asking questions is what ended up with us going NL. I don’t think its too much to ask. Having said all of that, life as a supporter, was much easier sans a forum and social or should i say antisocial media .

Christ, that’s far too clever for me. Bowing out gracefully! On another theme, I see Ipswich have recalled their beast of a Centre-Forward. Oh dear, what a pity, couldn’t have happened to a nicer club. Pity they didn’t recall him before yesterday.
