Labuschagne got his hundred, then promptly got out lbw to Robinson for 103, score now is 246-3.
The 2 big partnerships were 172 for the 2nd wicket and 65 for the 3rd.
Anderson, Broad, Woakes & Robinson are bowling well, Stokes and Root have been indifferent but improving.

Australia 366-5, another sizeable partnership is now at 72, Smith is 82no & Carey 41no, it's looking like a 450 + total.
Anderson, Broad and Robinson all economical, Stokes getting panned but has taken 2 wickets.

Only a draw available for England now, and day two hasn't even finished ! I cannot see England taking twenty wickets in a game to win a single Test.

It has just been said that Australia were 4-1. England are 7-1 so are in fact ahead of the game !
Burns should not be there with his batting style. It's a cheap wicket every time for the Aussies.

Hard!! it's almost as if the likes of Burns expects to get out with no real contribution, position all wrong ,angled bat, strewth whats about keeping a flat bat at the incoming ,,, IF England can get to lunch by 4th day they will have achieved a bloody miracle

To avoid further frustration and disappointment...bring them home ..๐๐๐๐๐๐ Yes, gut reaction screams it but we see it out, do our best and use other options with what weโve got. Donโt want the Aussies screaming about โwhingeing pomsโ especially as Iโm about to fly to Oz and have tickets for the Sydney Test! Looks like it will be over by then but Iโm looking forward to seeing my first Ashes in Australia live. Hoping Overton and Leach will be in team but probably not. Iโm waiting for someone in the press or from the ECB to start talking about โlearning from thisโ which of course they always say but never do. And if they say one thing about preparation I think Iโll scream! We had little preparation last time and none this time. The ECB obvious fail to prepare and so prepare to fail. One positive, Ollie Robinson looks good and heโs been a great find. Thereโs gems out there but that is scraping the barrel tbh.

This will be a thumping of mega size.. in a test that England had good hopes of getting something out of, Overton surely must have a good chance at Sydney replace Anderson I think

It could all be over by the end of day 4, To lose eight wickets for 86 runs, be all out for 236 and bowling again with Australia building their massive lead is inexcusable.
The collapse was made worse by the way Joe Root and Dawid Malan played in a wicketless first session.
They again showed they are currently head and shoulders above the rest of England's batting, Malan making 80 and Root 62 in a third-wicket stand of 138.
The Aussies are already 282 ahead, probably need only another 50 to declare, but IMO they will waste time building up a 400 lead.

I guess if Australia (even with 2 of their first choice bowlers out) are better at batting, bowling and fielding than England... that probably gives them an edge.
