It is sad but no doubt they'll start up again and storm the lower leagues with fresh investment, and all their debts extinguished.

Sad indictment of the game. Probably not the time or place but I see City fans have been quick to draw parallels with their own 'brave' recovery from the events of 1982 on OTIB. Conveniently those posting forget to mention that Bury fans didn't condone the threat of physical violence against their own players or endorse screwing over local suppliers.

Sickening to see the fans this morning. The tip of the iceberg though in reality.

It’s similar to a mosquito giving someone malaria and then flying off. Good luck to Bury supporters, hopefully we’ll see them back doing what they love soon.

Bolton should have gone when they refused to play one of their fixtures.
They got away with it because of their profile, had that been Exeter, or Carlisle, or probably even us the EFL would have expelled the club there and then.
Now Bolton have yet another 14 days.

And then there's Rovers, running up the debts but without a team that's actually getting anywhere. At least a club like Portsmouth had highs before the big crash, all we have is a field by the M5 and an office in London.

You supported a ‘share scheme’ where a million pound plus donation got you a smaller percentage shareholding than when you started!

Just for the record, I don't mind being associated with what The Share Scheme was at the outset, but want to distance myself from what it became. Yes, I supported the original objectives of The Share Scheme but withdrew my support when David Brain agreed to the dilution and then tried to explain that the new price per-share was now, somehow, better value even though it purchased, at a higher price, less equity per-share than was originally agreed. I think we possibly agree here, Share Scheme contributors were comprehensively ripped off. That includes me.

Can I just add to my previous comment, there were people who weren't interested in shares, boardroom representation etc and just saw the Scheme as a way of supporting the club financially, those people weren't ripped off in any way, fair play to them.

I'd love to know what the Supporters Club's opinion is as an organisation on the goings on and Bolton and Bury and football in general and how they see things at Bristol Rovers. They have an elected representative on the board after all so should be in a great place to tell us 'the state of play' at BRFC
*No laughing at the back please*

OTIB also didn't mention that the rules were changed after the events of 1982. No idea what these rules were though. Would Bury have been treated differently in the current circumstances had this not occurred?

Saturday 4th January 2020 we were due to play them so free weekend. Is it clear what it means for us in terms of relegation? One more successful side promoted, still 4 struggling losers sent down? Because Bury were at disadvantage trying to go past us, Bolton if they survive have battle to go past us, but Southend, Tranmere, Wimbledon crap though they are are capable of getting more points than us.

Now 3 down, 4 up. As for our chances... BBC:The EFL had already outlined how it intended to balance the leagues if Bury were expelled: The current League One season would be completed with 23 teams, with the number of relegation places reduced to three. Four teams will still be promoted from League Two this season, ensuring League One is rebalanced in 2020-21. Only one team will be relegated from League Two, with two to be promoted from the National League as usual.
