Graham Coughlan has told his players he is leaving Bristol Rovers to take over the reins at League Two Mansfield Town. The news comes just hours after Bristol Rovers beat Ipswich Town at Portman Road to move up to fourth in the League One table. This will be a shock for Gas fans who have seen their side defy the odds to climb to within two points of the automatic promotion places. Help support D3D4 by becoming a patron This could be a decision made due to personal reasons with Coughlan looking to move closer to his Sheffield home. He has confirmed he is taking assistant manager Joe Dunne with him. Currently, Coughlan shares a flat in Bristol city centre with Dunne but an offer from Mansfield appears too good to turn down. In his post-match press conference, he also revealed he felt he’d taken the Gas as far as he can go. Mansfield parted company with Jon Dempster this evening following a poor first-half to the season and will confirm the appointment of Coughlan shortly. The Dubliner has been superb since taking over from Darrell Clarke a year ago and his decision to move on is certainly a surprise. The quality of the Rovers training ground has been cited as a frustration and the facilities and ambition of the ownership at Mansfield will certainly appeal. The Stags are currently 18th in League Two and sit 12 points off the play-off places and just seven from the relegation zone. d3d4football.com/graham-coughlan-set-to-leave-bristol-rovers-for-mansfield/

Look at it another way. How would you rank Sol Campbell's performance as a manager on Saturday? 2-0 up away from home, cruising, could've been 4 easily. Halftime talk from him and they lost 4-2

I think this study is biased and ignores an important point:
These things take time.

After listening to the sercombe goal, 35 yards and wonder goal comments on here, I had to find a clip. It's an average goal, about 23 yards out, nothing wondrous about it, just had to lift and keep on target as keeper nowhere. Rad Bristol comm is a joke. Your point on the yards got me thinking. Brookman said “from 30, 35 yards” which I personally think is different to “yards out” but I might be wrong. One is number of yards from goal line measured perpendicularly. The other is the distance the ball travelled before it crossed the goal line. So if you scored from the corner of the penalty area (as opposed to the middle in the D) and it crossed in the exact middle of the goal that’s 22 yards out but the ball has travelled 28.5 yards which is much more impressive. Taking the second definition and looking at the replay Sercs was at least 5 yards further back from the edge of the D (22 yards - bear in mind camera angle) so that’s 27 yards but he hit it in line with the edge of the area and it crossed the line in about the middle of the goal so that’s 35 yards. (27 by 22 triangle) Happy to be corrected but on this one I think Keith got it spot on by the distance travelled by the ball to cross the line definition

Yes and yes . Best iFollow purchase I’ve made. UTG Thanks... good news indeed. I didn't think iFollow was available for 3pm Saturday games unless you're abroad (or "appear" to be abroad)... How does one answer this to the our new administrator? . I’m in Sweden. Honest.
