Well, at least he hasn't waited until the 11th hour of deadline day to haggle this time! :-) Did he last time? Well, I can't say for certain as I wasn't there. From what I've heard delays weren't just down to Rovers, but really we still should have got it over the line anyway.

Evans, Tony Evans. In a heart beat he'll dribble and wriggle free. And he takes the greatest free-kicks you will see. When we're out together, watching Rovers and Tony.
Might need a bit of work...

Amazing that our 2 players in the team of the week are both playing in unfamiliar roles - left back / left wing-back, and right back / right wing-back. And more amazing that they were the 2 pushing forwards to combine for the last minute winner against Portsmouth.

As the Charlton game isn't on a Saturday, I was guessing that it would be available on i-Follow. Yet there is no mention of it on the Rovers Official website, unless you go searching within the i-Follow section: www.bristolrovers.co.uk/matches/fixtures/first-team/202324/december/bristol-rovers-vs-charlton-athletic-on-29-dec-23/While over on the Charlton website they are advertising it on their website: www.charltonafc.com/You would think that Rovers would be plugging the game being available online, especially as all tickets have now gone. People have been saying how good our media has been. I honestly haven't seen much difference since 2014, when we had far less people involved in the media, and the Official website itself has been shocking for the past couple of year - only seem interested in tweets (or whatever they are now, I don't do it), and then have been called out for unprofessional tweets.

Big occasion for me today, as this game marked 50 years to the day since I first saw Rovers play. - 26/12/1973 - Bristol Rovers 4 Plymouth Argyle 2 (Att. 22,353). - 26/12/2023 - Bristol Rovers 2 Portsmouth 1 (Att. 9,176 full house)
I don't remember anything of the match in 1973, but I do recall sitting on my dad's shoulders in the South Enclosure at Eastville. Sadly dad wasn't well enough to come to The Mem today, but if he was able I'm not sure he'd be pleased with me sat on his shoulders. :-)

Robbed of an equaliser. Luke Thomas looked 3 yards onside on the i-Follow slowed replays, and at least 2 defenders keeping him onside.

Seems to be a different rule for temporary stands. You see temporary scaffolding stands going up on golf courses and cricket grounds all round the country, and being used the next day. However, I know which type I'd feel more secure sitting in. And there is no way I'd ever sit in that Party Stand at Old Trafford!

Following further works over recent weeks, the club can confirm that the South Stand project is progressing well, and it is hoped that the remaining works will be finished early in the new year. The drainage and tarmac surfacing work was completed yesterday, allowing the remaining fitting out of the concourse, toilets, and concessions to proceed. As explained in the previous update we will need to obtain building control sign-off before we can commence any test events. We will provide a timeline for the test events as soon as we can confirm all the elements are in place. As an interim measure, we are pleased to confirm that following a Safety Advisory Group meeting yesterday, permission has been granted to extend our temporary usage of the south stand for the Christmas period. The small increase will allow all the South Stand season ticket holders to sit in the Southwest corner of the new stand. Season ticket holders for this area will receive an e-ticket in the same way as they have been for previous fixtures. Again, we would like to thank all the season ticket holders for their patience while the work has been ongoing. The club would like to again place on record its thanks to the club's Safety Advisory Group members and the club staff who have been working hard to progress the project. This must explain why a few hundred tickets suddenly became available yesterday online. It appears that a certain number of spots around the ground are held back for people who bought season-tickets in the South / South-West, until they know whether they want a full refund for a match or take a place in another area of the ground. What a complete and utter faff. Every home match the club have to contact people they sold season-tickets to, for a stand that no way never ever was going to be built in time, and find out what they want to do. I presume this means either: - They find them another seat in the ground = no change in cost. - The person chooses to stand in a different part of the ground = a proportion is refunded for using a cheaper spot. - The person decides not to go = a pro-rata refund of their season-ticket.

Just had a look at the stadium map for Portsmouth and seems only a couple left on North and West terraces.

My old sat nav' had a programme where you could choose the voice of the navigator, it was Ozzy Osborne or Homer Simpson for me every time. Had Ian Holloway been an option Ozzy and Homer would have had to take a back seat. My Sat Nav was voiced by Boy Bands ... but all I got was One Direction.

Back to QoS ...
The reason I've not watched any of the new programmes, with the current set up, is because I can't stand Paddy McGuinness - nothing to do with the gender or ethnicity of the captains or team members.
I think the problem is in general that people don't like change, and it takes time to get used to change. The problem QoS has is that the previous presenter and team captains were so well loved, and a big reason behind that is because they'd been together for such a long time - individually and together on QoS far, far longer than any other people involved over the years.

Just got back.. ...to the battle cruiser! In Manc land.... A genuine amazing day from start to finish! LG is a handsome bugger.... especially when he's starting songs at half time on concourse....he was mobbed like a hero and even grown men can admire heroes in our bit of space ... Genuinely gas hero! Also, n what the hell are you doing here!?? Anyhoos....onto something less important: A deserved result and performance. Amazing to see us boss the game for almost all of it....our shape without the ball held firm almost as good as our movements with it. A threat on flanks, we passed our way through them at times with ease, then played the ball forward for runners when need be. Their huge no5 was their weakness we exploited. When he got sent off we capitalised immediately, but arguably defended better without him. LT AE pushing forward a great GW cross and master finishing from big JM. All this from sterling defending from CT Kramervs Kramer and, Wilson ....our structure was impervious. A deflected shot for their only goal, and a brilliant save from Coxy was as much as they could muster.... Credit to the hard working approach we forced them into. Credit to a well organised set up. At times it looked like we were playing against ourselves under the B***** era where no one moved but hey you had possession...(?) Another word for all of us that travelled, some 700 of us, we outsang the other 18,000 (yearrrrrright!?) for large parts of the match. An amazing following. Sometimes this club really does surprise everyone. Safe travels home, Gas ...what a day, what an experience and just desserts especially after last season....there was to be no last gasp equaliser and rightly so! You saw the rovers, now um go home I genuinely was not worried from kick off to end. Well done MT and players staff for giving us a performance to be proud of.... UptheGas! Flash?? He was in the away end with you?!?

Mad stats... According to BBC page: They've had 61% possession, but no shots at all, and only 1 corner! We've had 10 shots, 6 on target, and 3 corners. The important stats being 2 goals to nil and we are winning on the number of players still on the pitch.
