Nope, will be on top the South West stand. But will it be viewable from the west stand? Doesn't look like it to me. Maybe we'll have two - this one which needs planning permission and another where the previous one used to be which I'm guessing may not need pp. I can't see any logic to just having this new one on its own. Looks to me that you won't be able to see it from the west stand. The ideal situation, for everyone in the ground, would be a screen in each corner. Or at least 2 screens placed in opposing corners, on a diagonal. Otherwise there will always be part of the ground unable to view it. Something that isn't clear is the positioning on the south-west stand: whether it will be square on to the pitch, or angled towards the opposite corner. The second of which could benefit the Thatchers Terrace.

Sorry, I don't believe that for one second. The South Stand was envisaged and planned before the AlSaeed family came on board, and it wasn't until the South Stand was up that there was any mention of further developments at the ground, and that came from Hussain AlSaeed. Quite apart from that, how does a gap of 12 seats in the top block mean it is there to link to a proposed stand to the side of it? Why would you need to leave a gap in one stand to be able to link to a stand at a right angle to it? And the East Stand will either be an extension of the existing stand, or a knock down or re-build. Either way it will be a more permanent concrete construction, so how would that link to the Meccano style South Stand? I've seen people mention this on the other Rovers online forum, and then it becomes fact. I did see that people who attended the open forum asked the question and the reply from the top table was they didn't know! I've got no idea why the gap was left there. My pure guesswork would be one of the following: the original plan to put the new screen there; it was planned to use it for disabled supporters, or it's due to the fact the old Alton Road entrance affected the groundwork. There is no timescale for a new East Stand, it could be years away. As said before, the South Stand is a Meccano style, so would be easy to add seats and take them away from that section. If there is no problem with seats being there they should get on and install them, and worry about any proposed East Stand at a later date. I'm only going by what I read on one of our forums, which from what I remember came from an official club source in the past 6 months. Also if you look at the original plans online the design clearly shows a gap where it is from day one so maybe there is some truth in it. I thought it would be for the screen. Another guess is it could have been left for a police control box. Something else that someone was posting on the other forum was that the same link was in place on the south stand to south-west stand, with the top section missing. But I can't see it - the whole height of the south stand stretches the whole width of the pitch to the south-west stand, whereas it clearly stops 12 seats short of the width of the pitch in the top section towards the east terrace. It's easy to see on the map of the ground: www.eticketing.co.uk/bristolrovers/EDP/Season/Index/241Anyway, the east stand could be years away. I say put those seats in the top corner, increase the capacity for away supporters, then if at some point in the future that section needs to be removed the construction is such that it's a simple matter to do.

I notice that the whole of that recent Kevin Bond article, passed by without a 6 letter word appearing with the final 5 letters represented by asterisks.

Nope, will be on top the South West stand. Best position for it at. It will fill in the gap and bring attention away from the fact that the SW corner is much smaller that the south end of the structure. The only other logical place would be where the gap is near the away end, but thats been left there so the new east stand will be able to connect once built.Sorry, I don't believe that for one second. How did any of them get through? Yes I thought Iceland the best but half looking at it whilst watching the play off final as well it looked like it was a competition about ‘who can shock the most’ or ‘who can have the most outrageous song’. Not a true song contest. Signed Disgusted of Wareham. UTG! That was exactly as I saw it! A friend on facebook was doing a running commentary, posting about pretty much every act, and this is what I replied to her about Iceland... "About the only one I can relate to! 😃 ... They all seem to try and out-weird each other nowadays."

How did Ireland get through? They were dire. Wogan would have been turning in his grave.

The club have replied to the Supporters club. No backing down from their sh*tty stance. A few mistakes in there; it isn't easy to read in places. Perhaps we have a new intern or someone on work experience writing our emails: bristolroverssc.co.uk/season-ticket-cards/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR14LWY-AUJPrg8lpafsBlzVOLkPPJPXMiUFDyfDN1Xta64opf1gtqXbrlA_aem_Abhm_OVcvVc4D_dTWV4USvWbYZpqX2fH8qyqTLPKhh3VeJ4GEPkGU-z5cNMteBrrqnTUIflG3V5A67LQ04NU_bDf‘As a club we are looking to progress and going electronic on season passes and not allowing cash in the stadium are things that are done in all successful clubs in the UK and around the world.
‘We have provided all disabled fans through Clare to get FREE cards for them upon request. As for normal fans and older fans they can purchase the card for 15 pounds, which is the exact cost on the club, and we are not making any money on it, just covering the costs.
‘Clubs like Peterborough and Blackpool charge all fans 20 pounds for cards that includes disabled fans too.
‘We feel we are extremely fair priced as we cover costs only and in the recent future the cards will be stopped with the new stadium and no option but electronic will be available, and everyone has to move electronically.
‘Satisfying every fan is an impossible task; however, we have the club progress from the administrative side, football side and infrastructure side as our main priority and we are not afraid to make the tough decisions that we feel will take Bristol Rovers Football Club to the next level and be a sustainable football club.

Shocking really, especially seeing the clubs above us and picturing their grounds.
The team in 54th can't be happy with their position either, considering their modern facilities and riches.

Basel,Gibbo highly rated by Vale fans but N'hams top scorer? ? Think he means Cheltenham. Didn't he score an own goal for them, during the spell at the start of the season when they didn't get the ball in the net themselves, for something like the first 11 games?

JCH agent getting greedier? That was . apparently thrown in as deadlines approached, I heard it was the agent looking to raise the stakes at the final moments ,he seemed to think that BRFC would pay whatever to get the deal done..he ( it seems) blew the deal..not all BRFC doings ... which may upset some people's way of thinking towards the club 🤔 My understanding it was JCH, rather than the agent, that tried to change things at the eleventh hour. And my understanding is we still came to an agreement, and had time to get it over the line.

I get the feeling that B*****'s appointment stopped lots going, and attracted lots of others to start. I wonder whether his sacking has not brought back the former, while removing the latter. It's just a thought. There's probably a lot of reasons for season ticket sales falling. I imagine there's a fair few who bought tickets for a stand that wasn't ready until January (and let's face it, was never going to be ready before the start of the season, and was only partially ready then), who ended up being messed around, being moved to different parts of the ground each game, having to get a different ticket each game, not knowing where they'd be until the last minute, sometimes getting refunds ...

On the subject of handing a spare season-ticket to someone else...
If someone from our little group was unable to attend, I'd try to see if anyone I knew was interested in coming. It's never been an easy sale! But on the odd occasion I'd taken a friend to a game it was always someone who wouldn't have gone otherwise - either a Rovers fan who only goes to the occasional match, or a neutral who would come along just to watch a game and for the social.
In these circumstances the club would benefit: someone might attend more often because of this, and although they've got in free the club gets more money than they would have otherwise through another programme sale, a pasty and maybe a pint or two from the bar.
Yet more shooting themselves in the foot.

A lot of talk in other places at how this discriminates against our older supporters, who don't have smart-phones. But what about kids who won't have any phone at all? I don't know how this works - can adults have more than 1 account on their phone? The club didn't care about these types of groups going cashless, I don't think they'll care about anything else but fleecing the vulnerable.. Yep. On the subject of cashless... Ever stood in a queue for a programme, from one of the booths (if there are any left)? The card machines are so slow, it takes about 5 minutes a transaction. And once I went to get a pasty from the hut and they couldn't get my credit card to work (first tap, then swipe). After a while they just waved me on, so I got a free pasty!

Southgate is overly cautious. Plays negative football when it really counts. An unhealthy obsession with Maguire. A bit of a creep. A squad of no alarms and no surprises. However the squad will be fitter, happier. Chests pumped out as we hear the National Anthem played for the first time. England will look good in the early stages. Fans will be optimistic. They dream. Nice dream. A settled 3-5-2. Hopefully England will finally have everything in it's right place. Bellingham will be the stand out performer. The final piece of the jigsaw falling into place. I might be wrong, but I think England will lose in the first big game they face. Knives out. Southgate will get slaughtered as we look to burn the witch. Ultimately supporters will feel let down. Left high and dry. People get too emotional. Too emotionally invested. Tears before bed-time. There, there. Advice: Don't get sentimental, it always ends up drivel. Have I missed any out? Do you do this a lot? Not noticed before! :-)

Surely this contravenes some trading law. I entered into a contract with BRFC, and have already paid for a 2024/25 season ticket (£500 was bad enough as it is!!), and now I'm being asked to part with another £15 for a new card (never set up any payment schemes on my phone and no wish to do so). www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/20242/april/202425-season-ticket-update/
