For those of you who keep dismissing all the stories of woe emanating from within our that give grave cause for concern, below is a statement from the person(s) involved in fencegate. Let’s try and not let a story get in the way of actual true facts please find below this statement, cue Lord Justice Gashead and his merry band of rose tinters to try and dissect UTG : I will try and explain what has gone on in a sensible way without apportioning blame on any individual or company In February The landscape company was instructed by brick to cut back hedgerows and excessive growth around the perimeter of training ground.about half way through the clearance the club realised there was no way of securing the site from vehicle and caravan access without a fence being erected IT WENT to tender and I understand J & G were successful Work was completed No payment was received until July which was 3k out of £40 k plus since then there have been several more payments of 3k after a long gap and several emails J& G went legal they received another 2k this week They also excavated the ditch that runs the entire length of the site I have finally spoken up as I am fed up of companies who worked this site and did a good job being blamed If you enter the site you will also see 2 huge roller shutter doors on the original agricultural sheds and new internal wall to house grass cutting machinery So yes money is owed and steve Brookfield is trying his best to pay it is only my relationship with the club over 15 years of sponsoring all the stands and managers cars that stops me going legal I am fully behind Daryl but the politics within the club have upset me. I am sure I will get slaughtered for speaking up but I love this club and things aren’t right. I think people have only 'dismissed' it because there have been no 'facts' or evidence presented to actually debate. Has anyone actually blamed the companies that worked the site. People have only reasonably suggested perhaps there were disputes for payment to be withheld, it's hard to have a discussion or debate with one side that only says yeah but they haven't done x and provides little information
The question is still what is the cause/official reason of the non payment/staged payments from BRFC's side. I m not saying anyone would or should believe the official line, that is up to individuals but the other side of the story is needed still
To be honest the main reason for putting this post across was to provide evidence of non payment of bills which this clearly illustrates and it is only one incident of what seems to be a similar pattern of what’s happening within the club elsewhere .thanks for not dismissing it out of hand.

Coming from a builder an agreed upon quote is a quote regardless of cost also reading between the lines it’s more than just a fence that they have quoted for. Indeed it is. So having explained that bit can you please explain why it has not been paid? Not clear, to me anyway, from your OP as to why that may be. You’ll have to ask the club as to why it wasn’t/ isn’t being paid but somehow don’t think you get a response , perhaps ask Hamer at the next Agm lol

Well it seems the club aren’t very quick to pay their debts as if you read between the lines on the OP you will see that J&G have gone legal and others that have worked the site are also yet to be paid , which either means all the contractors have not done their job correctly or the club have instructed various companies to carry out the work without having any intention of paying them or at the very least hang it out for time to pay as they haven’t got the money . My money is on the latter as other debts have come to light such as Avon and Somerset constabulary had to threaten action for last seasons Old bill bill and I’ve also heard that the hosts(ess’s) have been given their p45’s even though they haven’t been paid for 3 months. People need to start pulling their heads out of the sand pretty sharpish .

So have J&G gone "legal" or not? obviously j&g have gone legal but other “companies who worked this site’ are likely to follow although they’re having their resolve tested through their love of the club.

A quick internet search shows that 275m of fencing at 3m in height costs £13k so we must either have a big field or labour costs have gone up! I hope we have a big field Aside from an expensive fence, we also have a field fully lined with excessive hedgerows - good for wildlife, but no good for pro-football. Still, it's keeping people out. Coming from a builder an agreed upon quote is a quote regardless of cost also reading between the lines it’s more than just a fence that they have quoted for.

Bring back Higgs. Bring back Conference Football. Bring back running a professional football club like your local corner shop. Bring back ‘the funding is in place and has been for some time’. Bring back Wonga loans. Bring back banning supporters of 40 plus years standing for ‘persistent criticism’. Bring back Santa’s Grotto. Bring back watertight contracts with Sainsbury’s that are laughed out of court. Bring back a boardroom and club with more leaks than a sieve. Bring back being weeks away from probable administration. Why would anyone with a modicum of sanity want any of this? well they wouldn't would they? But neither would they want what's really happening with the club at the moment would they?

A lot of small things have been done around the stadium, contactless card payments at last being one. A lot of investment has been made to the backroom staff, which must be a good thing and making us a more professional club. However, the stalling of the training facilities and UWE are big negatives at present. If they do deliver the former over the coming months/year, then I will feel more comfortable. The small investments are there from management of the clubs funds, they have yet to illustrate the parting of any of their own cash and I don't think they ever intended to . " the finances are in place" seems to be one of their most notable and laughable quotes.

Excellent turn out for Bc birthday bash yesterday, nice to see the old tote have their reunion and some proper bruisers to boot 👊, good music , good food and excellent company even if I did feel like a mere middle aged whipper snapper 😂 I was there, really enjoyed myself. Hard to believe Bob will be 60. Great to see Aggie as I’d not seen him in years. Sadly I had to leave around 19:00 but I enjoyed the time I was there Yeah I spoke to Aggie but he left quite early as did I , I left before 5 but think I saw you sat down along the seats to the left as you walk in if I'm right in putting the face to the forum name?

Sorry KP I'm not sure what your argument is with what I've said? im saying 'at best' between league 1 and championship, that's at best, let's face it even now we could win another 14 or 15 games and get into the play offs, unlikely but not impossible. i have said here over a number of years we cannot compete at the mem, tarted up or no, we must get a ground like the uwe in terms of size or we wither on the vine stark message from me, but it's what I believe, Wael has neither the money or his family from what we are being told behind him on this gas project, he really should have looked at NH deal with UWE more carefully (if a deal was actually done?) btw I'm not a betting man but I believe the mem will never be redeveloped, hope I'm proved wrong!! I think we have ALL been fed the line of we cannot compete at the mem so many times that it is one of those things that embeds itself into the psyche and is believed without question. The thing is, we don’t even sell out the mem ! Imagine us getting a ground such as UWE and the empty spaces. Whether we like it or not our Ted neighbours have stolen a march on us and are a million miles ahead of us and in every way possible. They are the ones that players go to and they have their own problems with ticketing but the ground is superb, the bars are great and the food outlets too. I have no idea on what has happened at our club but it would certainly seem that either true due diligence was not done and that the family have lost the appetite to do what needs doing or good old Nick Higgs chose the group that gave him the best chance of getting his money back, instead of the other interested party of whom I do know had footballers involved & by all accounts had the appetite to go ahead with the stadium AND million on the team, that is if what I was told was true and I have no reason to doubt who told me as this person has never given me a bum steer in over 40 years of knowing him. Personally I don’t buy into the repeated mantra that we cannot sustain the club at a revamped mem. The TV money and money from just being in the championship are so much better than what we have now and, truth be told, the higher up you go, the less reliant clubs are on the actual bums on seats. This has long been a problem at our club, we think and act small. We accept the excuses, sorry, reasons given and shrug our shoulders and carry on, in the belief that we have reached our zenith due to the ground we are in and what training facilities we use. I for one firmly believe that we can do better but that we have the wrong mentality to really do well. It shocks me as we did have our periods, all too brief, in the second tier. Sadly we were there when the rewards for being there were nowhere near what they are now, both as a percentage and in real terms. I am not going into a meltdown just yet but I felt we were going to have a poor season before a ball was kicked and that DC had a disastrous recruiting campaign. None of us really know the answer as to why but unless he speaks up or maybe one of the ITK posters divulge it then the buck stops at his door. We let our only real winger go and now are farting about with formations that are experimental and this really should have been done with the ample opportunity we had during the pre season games. I don’t believe DC even knows his best 11 players. Whilst I applaud DC for his work in getting us promoted twice and placing us in the highest position in 20 or more years, I don’t have blind faith in him and it’s evident he is more waspish in interviews and is feeling the pressure. I also am not a firm believer in all this evolution not revolution malarkey. It’s a marketing line that the Saatchi’s would be proud of. I believe we need some of both. If we are to wait until our own young players develop then we will be waiting longer and then, there will be no guarantee that DC would play them. Anyway, i’ve gone on enough. It’s time DC played Dom Telford and not have a player of his quality on the bench and it’s time we start to play to our strengths instead of chopping and changing the side each week but having the same very basic game plan. I’m afraid DC has been rumbled at this level and that he needs to address his own stubborn side in my opinion. We have become all too easy to read and counter by the other managers and coaches. I fear that we could be in or around the bottom come January but again, hope I am very wrong. I truly don’t think the ground is as big a problem as it is made out to be but keep saying it enough and most will believe it. If the time comes when we are selling out each game then I wouldn’t have such a problem believing it but the fact is that we rarely do sell out. Sorry to sound so negative but this is how I see it in reality and sans all the spin that goes on. Everything you said and more KP , the only thing I would slightly disagree on is us filling the stadium , I think if we were in a new purpose built stadium we would sell out most weeks as the novelty factor kicked in but how long we would sustain would of depended on our on field progress as the likes of Swansea and Brighton( arguably lesser supported clubs) have proved but I do feel that the Mem being upgraded stand by stand wouldn't entice as many fans for the future that said we wouldn't necessarily need these fans if not for atmosphere as the money is in championship abundance.

Supporters should be aware of planned resurfacing works on Filton Avenue that are scheduled to take place later this month. BCC will be resurfacing Filton Avenue directly outside the Stadium on Monday 16th October to Wednesday 25th October. The works will commence from 09:30 till 15:30 daily Monday to Friday there will be no weekend resurfacing work. The road will be closed during the resurfacing works. Bristol Rovers will have use of the entrance nearest to Gloucester Road (Memorial Gates) for the first 4 days and then switch to the entrance nearest to the Muller Road end (Trubshaw Close) for the remainder of the works. So develop the roads by re tarmacing and then in 20 years time it will need redoing then probably again after if the construction of a new stadium was built by then 😂😂😂
