thought they edged it, but 1-1 HT is about right did they ease off, or did we improve, or a bit of both? I'm not watching, but stats from one site show us 11 shots to their 4 and 9 chances created to their 3. Obviously stats (other than goals scored) mean bugger all, but sometimes, when you're a fan , there can be a tendency to be naturally pessimistic with how you think a game is going ( and probably with good cause when it comes to Rovers!)

Barrow,Salford,Harrogate,Sutton,Crawley. Will be like being back in the Conference. Crawley on a Tuesday night in the depths of winter is a sobering experience I was at Alfreton on a cold Tuesday night in November watching Rovers huff and puff their way to a 0-0 in front of less than a thousand fans. That remains the nadir of my time supporting Rovers, I'm hoping it remains so,

I saw that and my first thought was what happened to bookings for ungentlemanly conduct? It was, I believe, replaced by Unsporting Behaviour. He should have been booked for that then. I would love to see refs starting booking players for twattish behaviour. I'd start with a mandatory yellow for anyone who does the finger to lip 'shhh' goal celebration in an empty stadium.

Lucky there weren't any supporters when the 3rd goal was scored, bloke runs and slides on his knees and acts like a twit in front of Oxford management, it could have all got a bit silly after him doing that. I saw that and my first thought was what happened to bookings for ungentlemanly conduct?

Some good worked goals by both teams, could they do any worse by blooding a few in the 1st team, if we are gonna lose 4-3 is at least exciting. I find it really bizarre how academy kids throughout the game struggle to break into first teams. My mate's son plays for City u23s. His goalscoring record is phenomenal, as it was when he played Western League (aged 15) & Southern League. Scored for Torquay in a brief spell there (admittedely not at Stockport when he went there) and now he is back at City scoring for fun. His case is not particularly unusual, I just don't get why teams won't give it a go any more. BTW, it goes without saying, Rovers didn't respond when tipped off about my mate's son .

Lot of moralising on the Preston forum. Don’t they believe in giving someone a 372nd chance? Pffft, snowflakes. Boo hiss Expect there are a vocal few who don't care and would gladly sell the reputation and good name of a fine old club in exchange for the hope of a few points over a few months. That would be nice.

There seems to have been some sort of cock up with the editing there. 'Bristol Rovers offered a derisory 50k' should surely be 'We couldn't believe our luck when Bristol Rovers offered 50k'

Right, I'm watching again, although I really do think it will be the last time if I don't see a decent performance!

JAB comments today in BEP regarding Ehmer. Brutal!: "Don’t forget I’ve known Max from when I was at QPR. He was training with us when he was 20 and the observations of him then haven’t changed much to the observations of the player I’ve found now. "That is worrying in that period of time, seven, eight or nine years, if you’re still making the same mistakes. "I think you can only help yourself. He can only help himself first and foremost before you can help any of your teammates." "Captain when we came in, and I just don’t understand that," B***** said. "How can that be the leader, the person you set out as the head of your organisation, as the head of your troops? "He’s got a lot of work to do, the boy. We’ve got to build him back up and it’s not straightforward, and, as I say, I can only help people who want to help themselves. "We’ve got no time for passengers, and as cruel as that may seem, unfortunately this is not a charity. This is an elite performing environment that is not elite performing at this moment in time and it’s my job to get it there, because I’m a custodian of the building." Maybe sometimes things need to be said. I've never been an advocate of dirty washing in public, it kinda backfired with Mildenhall/DC, but JAB is definitely saying what I think I'm seeing.... Do people actually think these public comments about a player are ok? I certainly don't. In fact, I think it's f**king atrocious.

I love the Mem, unlike The Concept, I feel totally at home there and since I started watching in 1974, it is, by some distance , the ground that I have seen the majority of my Rovers games on (in fact, I would imagine that is the case for a very large majority of our support). If we could develop it AND keep some 'normal' terracing, I would be a very happy bunny (apart from 5pm on a Saturday when we have crashed to another home defeat of course)

Remember when we were 4th in League One? Did that actually happen? Yeah, it was s**t apparently! Being an old fashioned sort, I quite liked it.
