I would just say get on with being a decent football team at the level we're at, keep improving, those edge of town grounds are all soulless rubbish and we never really wanted one anyway

It's good to see Sinclair back in the fold, I drunkenly watched the penalties (twice) last night, and just seeing the man standing there lifted my heart. Every time I watch them I expect Balanta to miss

Maybe a bit picky but it could have done with a n/a option in a few places, like being forced to give an opinion on the view from my seat when I stand wherever possible. And like the post above says I believe all Chelsea's players are overpaid, Rover's really aren't anymore, so maybe room for some other options there

I am finding it so much easier to support these women who obviously really enjoy what they are doing, than the over entitled rich brats who turn out for the mens team (obviously Ricky Lambert is exempt from that criticism on his rare forays off the England bench)

No team that had gone down in the last decade did what we did, but most teams that came up from the conference did well in league 2, I would really relish the opportunity in hindsight 3 years from now to say that getting relegated to the conference was the best thing that happened to us, we changed our squad, changed our attitude and started a run of getting promoted. Lets prove that winning that play off final wasn't just about the right to play Accrington Stanley on a rainy Tuesday night in November but our first foot back up the league ladder. Therefore my opinion is that this season is equally important as last season and there is no reason it can't be equally as successful, though please don't let it go to penalties again my poor old heart hardly took it this time.

I would be so happy, if Jason Cardiff was Jason Perry, probably my one our most underrated players from that late nineties period. I realise its almost certainly not him but it would please me greatly

Maybe take the one who blasted the penalty over the crossbar, I think we owe him a favour

1990 as a happy impressionable 20 year old at the Leyland DAF cup, getting Devon White to wave at me, via the obvious 'Devon Devon gis a wave', I've got a photo of the momentous occasion, still my favourite ever Rovers player 25 years on. Never has a loss mattered less to me great day out. Leaving Wembley after the Huddesfield defeat I properly had a tear in my eye, which I am slightly ashamed of as I have always been scornful of people crying at football and a wise old fella of 70 or so came up put his arm round me and said 'come on lad your gonna see a lot worse days than this' true words of wisdom. Then as everyone else has said the sheer slow motion ecstasy of watching Sammy Igoe's goal make it's way from the half way line is going to be hard to beat, let us just pray that Sunday can have something close to that.

Over the years you might have noticed Paul on the terraces, he lives in Leeds comes to most the Gas games up north and a fair few home games too, as the thread title suggests he is blind and running the Edinburgh marathon, if anyone has any money left after the FA and Wembley have bled them dry you can donate to his chosen charity MIND, the mental health charity at www.justgiving.com/paulandrick . I'm not on the other forum but if anyone who is could copy and paste this it would be much appreciated

I am doing the Manc to Wembley thing, but making a weekend of it with mates in London, just deciding whether to sell a kidney or remortgage the house to do it.

Promotion every time, UWE would be grand, but I can't help thinking anything with so many problems before it's anywhere near started is going to need years of sorting, so it might be a bit of a short termist view but lets get back in the league

On the fixtures bit on page 8 of the Guardian sports section it says the Vanarama Conference play off final between Bristol Rovers and Grimsby was today at 2pm, I was mowing the lawn and missed it. Just wondering if anyone knew how it went?

It is not really that relevant, but a good story none the less, about 7 years ago I bought some tickets for me and mates to see the Charlatans in Blackpool from seetickets, they were the only place you could get tickets from. I bought them 3 months in advance they charged £2.40 a ticket for delivery, 3 days before the gig at 1030 at night an 60+ year old bloke turned up at my front door on a bike and handed over the tickets. Moral of this story they ain't the most professional of companies
