Once again the pitch looks first class and reflects the investment made. However, will this be jeopardized by the Queen concert stage being placed on it? If this was a Tom Corringe initiative ,did he consult with the groundsman and first team manager and if not why not? Just guessing but a very poor decision if correct Not sure JB will be pleased by this There will be damage no matter what precautions are made and knowing our luck it will pour with rain

What is your worry? Assume a stage will be built on pitch. Tickets on sale are for East side only so wont be spectators on the pitch.

Damage done by stage itself and the stage production team .After 3 days under cover grass deteriorates quickly . I just think its not worth the risk but I am no expert

Don't fret, it's good to see the club attracting outside income, something we have been crap at in the past.

Be the horefield nimbys are well pleased with this ? They would prefer Lindisfarne but it's a start.

Yes I am sure they have but if the event is successful there will others planned. We have invested heavily in the pitch ( relaid twice in 20 months or so at a cost of £330-£400K ?) so this could be an on going issue for the groundsman .I am firmly in the Paul Tisdale school of thought " respect the pitch" but if they can manage the issues arising the extra income would be welcome

Let's hope the outcome is not like Wembley after some bright spark decided to host the Horse of the Year show shortly before the 1970 FA Cup final:
Apparently, the same happened just before Swindon beat Arsenal in the League cup final in 1969 and some in the Arsenal camp blame the pitch for their historic defeat.

Bob Wilson was on 5 live this morning talking about that very game. There was some suggestion that Swindon Town sponsored the Horse of the Show the week before

When I first posted it no but I do now I do find some of your posts gross generalisations however , when you have been discussing the SC you seem to me to expressing your opinion as fact and without canvassing all rovers supporters I am not sure that you can make such statements .May be its just me reading it the wrong way

So for example you posted it seems fairly certain the sc have little support with the rank and file fans I think this would be Ok if you said that this forum held that majority view but how can you substantiate that the rank and file fans hold it too? What research did you carry out to be able to post this? And again " It seems to me a fair few posters will be happy if rovers fold" What evidence is there that gives you the confidence to post this?

Slight misquote at the end there, I think? Quite.
For the record: droitwichgas posted in the Mansfield (Match Day Thread) Aug 8, 2021 at 8:30am
"I'm a Rovers fan as a result I've got no alternative but to support B*****, personally I would have employed a less controversial manager, I find the constant criticism of him across both forums becoming tiresome.
It seems to me a fair number of posters will be happy if Rovers fail [my emphasis] this season just so they are proven right and B***** is sacked."
Some difference between fail and fold, perhaps.
