Really, do you honestly think it will sell? And if so who to? A debt ridden League 2 club that rarely achieves the Championship.. There don't seem to be many locals queuing up although we are told by knowall and his chums there are loads. Yet to see their money though... How many international buyers are there? Owners like the Leicester owner are few and far between. The guy that posted in here as gasandproud who, I think said his name is David Townsend, did say that he was talking on behalf of simeine who tried to engage with Wael on a stadium project. I think they are both locals and that the project will go ahead, with or without us. if he is around, I wonder how that is progressing ? Sounded like they were just waiting on confirmed planning. I do think there are a fair few locals who would show interest but only if there was a realistic purchase price. If you are around David, please give any updates if possible I was in touch with Gasandproud this week and he told me the work on developing the land is progressing but the situation remains, as per his last comments on here, that Rovers will not be a part of it.

You just got to love this guy for putting so much money into the club and keeping us going Thanks Wael if your reading this forum A fool & his money are easily parted, we have all heard this saying. Yes, Wael and Dwane sports, whoever they are, have put many millions into the club but what progress have we made ? Back to the same division we were in, when they took over and now a club that,I’d venture, would not have any people interested in buying & because of the millions it would cost to buy, unless Wael decided to sell but not want all of the money spent, paid back. Evolution not revolution was the language continually used yet we have sctuallly gone bsckwards. It’s tragic Ian. Sorry but I’m not grateful and I honestly believe we are in the most precarious situation than we have ever been in. If Wael doesn’t provide B***** with a big budget and we don’t get a couple of striker in, we may not have seen the worst of it yet. I am hoping we have a great season but we still have a large number of contracted players that Garner bought in. I think it would be better to let them go, even on a free, to get them off of the wages they leech from the club. I can see B***** becoming very frustrated when he realises what his budget he has to work with Always value you opinion on these matters, but i like to think we are in a better position than say we would have been under last owner.... we have a decent training ground and planning applications in to improve it. As a club we have professional people in charge of all things commercial and again we have improved on the "back of fag Packet" approach of the previous owner. lets face it we are never ever going to reach the dizzy heights of Championship standard football unless we get some serious investment from people like Landsdown with money to burn and we don't have any like that in Bristol The best we can realistically hope for is top league one/ occasional foray into Championship, even with a brand new stadium we are not going to stay there long without a Massive injection of Funds. So I'm a realist and would be happy to sit in a nice new stadium (what ever shape/size that is) watching a good standard of football and in my opinion we can achieve that with Wael over the Next 5 to 10 years

I agree we have two good pitches at Almondsbury but what else is there that makes you say we have a decent training ground ? And whilst I like the more modern approach of Tom Gorringe and the fact that Rovers are no longer being left behind when it comes to social media presence what else is there ? The accounts show the “back of a fag packet” approach was part of Rovers losing 1 million per year but the fancy new “cyber digital” approach hasn’t stopped losses reaching 3+ million per year

Tom's approach to modernising a business like ours from paper tickets bought out of a Portacabin in the car part to the management by a massive multi national company is just one way of getting rid of the rag bag rovers tag. he has employed people who know how to run a business correctly and must be applauded As regards the £3m + overspend, well bad appointment of managers + players on stupid wages/contracts covers most of that ! and any club can do that, just look at our friends south of the River I'm sure with Joey at the helm plus some astute signings and so far we have made some, with the reshuffle of the board things will get better

Right, so Wael has appointed his own Director to communicate with supporters' groups. What happened to the Share Scheme positions? Nice to see that whoever wrote that didn't miss the opportunity of heaping praise on Wael for meeting the commitment that was signed in the accounts, namely to fund the club for a period. Seriously Wael, if it becomes a burden just do as grown ups do, accept that you've made a massive mess of things and hand our club over to new owners, accept your losses and move on. Not many people will miss you. Take B***** with you.Said exactly the same thing on the other forum but sadly it did not go down well. They are a narrow minded bunch who don’t like opinions that are critical of the ownership. I expect I’ll be banned before not too long. I was told that this place was much more accepting of that kind of thing. So here I am. Harrystokes! You’re being very disengenuous here. I said on your thread on the other place that you seemed to be trying to get banned on there to wear it as a badge of honour on here as well as trying to get others banned. And lo and behold....Now you’re proving exactly that! I was prepared to engage with you and give you the benefit of the doubt! Seems I was wrong, you do like winding-up others and sowing dissention! This place has lots of posters who can see through this type of stuff. As I said on the other place, look to debate and swap views, it’s done well on here and some sharp people who will share some of your views but they’ll also call you out for acting like a ***! UTG!

Kind of agree with this wareham. It didn't look to me as if his initial comments met with too much hostility. There were, of course, different opinions, and a bit of discussion, but not much out of the ordinary.

So I'm a realist and would be happy to sit in a nice new stadium (what ever shape/size that is) watching a good standard of football and in my opinion we can achieve that with Wael over the Next 5 to 10 years I agree with you on our level, as we stand right now but I’d like to think we have an owner who would want to push on and maybe change our historical league standard, one who would be open to outside investment if we really did start to perform as a team. This is where I can get agitated as we had that chance, after the B2B promotions but we didn’t get the right type of players in and the rest is well documented. I started to question our owners ambition from the very beginning but hoped I was wrong. We managed to leak Matty Taylor’s rekease clause but I’m not blaming Wael for that as I’m very sure his agent and he did this. We did let Lockyers contract run down and lost out on any transfer fee. Wael managed to push DC to the end of his tether and GC openly questioned how far the club could go, we would do well to listen to both as I see it. Wael then did a complete 180 degree turn and had a “vision” of us becoming, by any other name, a development team, the brought on young players to then sell them at a profit. This is where I started to question my own support. Whilst other could be happy, seeing us become a feeder club, I am not. I am not naive enough to think we will ever not be a club that sells its best players but I don’t see any point in supporting a club whose ambition is not to push on but to continue but as a development team, one that brings on young players to sell. My own ambition is to be a championship club and to consolidate our place there, maybe even have a couple of seasons where we make a play off berth. What I definitely do not want is to give my money and support to a club whose ambition is just to tick over and survive. I don’t see any point is having a new stadium if our only ambition is to stay at our historical level. This coming season is going to be probably the most important in our recent history. As I’m writing this and am watching the Danish player laying on the floor with paramedics trying to start his heart. Makes you realise there are much more important things than football. Best I leave it there. My hopes and prayers go out to Cristian

How very sad that our owner seems very hell bent on not engaging with any Rovers fans or businessmen. It’s like he feels he has a point to prove. He prefers people with no commitment to the club over passionate Gasheads. We have seen him in action in shedding many people who have rovers at their core Thanks for the update @ swissgas

I guess if others within the senior management are not doing the job they are paid to do there might be a case for applauding him Yes, other clubs lose large sums of money but Rovers spend a far greater amount than our direct competitors yet achieve inferior results. I looked at the 2019 accounts (which are the most direct comparison because Rovers 2020 figures are not out yet) for Lincoln, Gillingham and Shrewsbury which are clubs similar to us. On average Rovers spent 2 million more than these clubs ( 9 million instead of 7) and yet those clubs are still in League 1 while we are relegated and each of them have superior stadiums to us as well. You say that with Joey at the helm and a board reshuffle you are sure things will get better but to me it looks as though we have gone back to the hit and hope approach. I thought Wael’s June 2020 list of strategic objectives was the best statement of intent to come out of Rovers since the alternative leadership group produced the Agenda for Change document in 2006. But eight months later that strategy, and the DNA approach it included, was abandoned and now there is no clarity about the direction we are taking. As Gasheads we live in hope, we easily find excuses for our failure and because of the battering we have endured over the years we take Joey’s talk of the Championship with a pinch of salt. But one thing we still refuse to do is ask ourselves whether, at Rovers, we have a fundamental flaw which prevents us from ever fulfilling our potential.

I have been let down badly only three times in my long life.Life Changingly badly. The third time was when we dropped into the Conference.Couldn't blame anyone individually but the club I have followed since the fifties and travelled a round trip of 240 miles per home game had let me down. The journey back to the EFL was exhilarating but recall the big crowd for the first game in the Conference v Grimsby and wondering if the Dickensian ground would ever improve but sadly it is still dreadful. However, still Love my team and although it will be Barrow and Sutton rather than Hull and Sunderland but hey I love Rovers warts and all and despite the total lack of progress since we left Twerton other than three tents and many broken promises I don't ever see it changing but I will put up with it as it is ,sadly, what we are or as we said in my day,'What we Bist'. I reffed in the Conference for many years and visiting clubs at that level and below and seeing many grounds slowly improve underlined our own static state but sadly despite rumours, hopes ,promises and taking Sainsburys to court, nothing ever changes. 'Be Patient' is the cry but I have been patient for over 65 years and time is running out .

Not stalked you anywhere, been here and there a long time and I’m sure you’re right about life being easier were you to stop posting in such a divisive way, it would. If you are accusing me of calling you out about asking the mods on the the other forum to ban you, I’ll accept that because that is what you said. Found out and guilty I’m afraid. You’re always welcome to an opinion, that’s what the forums are for but be prepared to be challenged when it becomes obvious you’re looking to stir things up. It wasn’t only your opinion that caused the dissention, it was more the manner and way you responded when others called you out as well. Regarding Wael, many hold a similar opinion on here and have for some time and is well argued and articulated by those posters. Blimey, if you think I’m the rudest poster you’ve ever come across you’ve led a very sheltered posting life with a short memory. I’ve read the threads on the other forum and am surprised that you think my response was the rudest! But hey, life can throw up surprises. I guess I’ll have to live with that. You too have a good day.
