Said exactly the same thing on the other forum but sadly it did not go down well. They are a narrow minded bunch who don’t like opinions that are critical of the ownership. I expect I’ll be banned before not too long. I was told that this place was much more accepting of that kind of thing. So here I am. Have you been told to “put up or shut up” yet ? Ah the famous Swiss! Been told all about you and even labelled one of your ‘disciples’. All because I had the temerity to post this and criticise Wael. gaschat.co.uk/thread/18118/wael-wrong-direction

All because I had the temerity to post this and criticise Wael. gaschat.co.uk/thread/18118/wael-wrong-directionI’ve just read the first page and after the opening post you’ve done well to get it up to twelve without a ban ! I’m intrigued by Big Jock’s confident assertion that Rovers were massively in debt and likely to fold but now they are not. Forum posters always ask for “facts” and “evidence” and you can’t get better than audited accounts for that. The audited accounts show Rovers were 7.2 million in debt and losing about 1 million a year when Wael took over which is why he was able to say (Venture Magazine 31.8.16) that there were 10 other parties trying to buy Rovers. Of course there would have been plenty of other potential buyers because we were not about to fold and those buyers knew that with good management it would be possible to turnaround a business losing 1 million a year and with borrowings of only 66% of its asset value. But now, losing 3+ million in a normal year, debts back up to around 12 million (over 100% of asset value) and a crazy financial commitment to a bungled training ground project, we are apparently not likely to fold ? Where are the facts and evidence to back up that assertion ? The latest open letter reads very much like the other recent ones and gives the impression of someone not in control. Things are happening and he doesn’t quite know why but he hopes it will turn out well in the end and most of all he wants Gasheads to like him. If our desire is to see Rovers survive and eventually prosper I think it’s much better to discuss the situation honestly and openly rather than pretend that Wael knows where he is taking us and there is no need to worry.

Right, so Wael has appointed his own Director to communicate with supporters' groups. What happened to the Share Scheme positions? Nice to see that whoever wrote that didn't miss the opportunity of heaping praise on Wael for meeting the commitment that was signed in the accounts, namely to fund the club for a period. Seriously Wael, if it becomes a burden just do as grown ups do, accept that you've made a massive mess of things and hand our club over to new owners, accept your losses and move on. Not many people will miss you. Take B***** with you.Said exactly the same thing on the other forum but sadly it did not go down well. It appears that Wael has control of at least one of the Mods over there as several people have been banned just for sharing your views.

If he doesn't like it get a viable stadium plan in place and market the club for the same price that he paid with no strings attached, it'll soon sell.

I couldn't agree more, I can't see where he can go from here, his judgement is poor, his direction of the club is erratic. The galloping major has tweeted watch this space when asked about changes at the club. Yesterday's visual interview had something of a snake oil salesman about it, he was a bit like Boris, no substance delivered having been briefed. The debt must be north of £25 million now and irretrievable, time to package up a deal and depart.

Yeah - but you can prove anything with facts. And welcome harrystoke. Some of the 'humour' expressed on this forum can be very dark. Obscure. Gallows humour. I've seen French and Latin puns. It's weird. But it's civil...

Interesting that the letter makes absolutely no mention of anything substantive.
Two questions for Wael.
Maher was a member of a training team that B***** openly attacked, to the point of implying they were professionally incompetent. Why is he still at the club?
Widdrington's basic ability to do his job has similarly been openly attacked by B*****. Again, why is he still at the club?
Similarly Wael, I think your own professional judgemen is open to question on the grounds that you employed a manager who was subject to ongoing legal proceedings. The whole circus around B***** is going to run until November, and possibly beyond. His actions have already brought the club into disrepute.
I actually quite liked Tisdale. But let's be honest - you basically appointed him because he is/was Starnes's mate. This is no way to run a professional football club.

Thanks. I read it but don’t see , again, anything specific about a stadium or anything of being really newsworthy. I am guessing this is being done to keep our fan engagement levels at a higher rate. much ado about nothing is essence

Just read the thread on the other forum.
It's quite incredible.
Some posters appear to think that the club is in a good place, a better place than the day Higgs handed the keys over, and that it's heading in the right direction.
I'm utterly bewildered.

The Al Qadi’s have been a total and utter disaster for my club from the day the grinning loons walked through the door. Five years of mis managed decline, all the goodwill of the double promotion frittered away. A two faced, dishonest bunch of charlatans. I wouldn’t blame Joey B***** for leaving. Who in Earth would want to work for an utter bunch of clowns like this lot? I have gone past caring to be honest. My first game in 1974 and Mr ‘Evolution not Revolution’ has extinguished any passion I have ever had for BRFC. I wish he’d just F off. You will now probably get the usual people say we should be grateful and that he saved the club. We are now in a position where the cost of buying the club, even if Wael did allow it, would be way too high for anyone, for a L2 club. As you rightly say, all of the inertia and goodwill, fans coming back to Rovers, has been ruined and he spent many millions only to be relegated to where we were, when they bought the club and only for the cost of the directors debts. People, me included, can give Higgs stick but he didn’t look to profit and sold for what he and the other directors had paid out. There are some that say nit all of the directors got their money back. We are stuck with the owner now, unless he really has the best interests of the club at heart and decides to sell for less that has been squandered during his tenure. This is no more than a fan who fulfilled his dream of owning an EFL club and the kudos it gives him. No different to you or I buying the club, we’d have no idea of the reality of it & I think his choice of assistants has been very poor. I don’t hate nor dislike the guy, as a man but I just think he has been a very poor custodian who is unwilling to give up any offer that doesn’t still include him, as the figurehead

I was told that this place was much more accepting of that kind of thing. So here I am. When you have a moderator who will not tolerate any criticism of Wael and who will defend his every move, the other forum becomes a place where reasoned debate is not possible. The ironic thing is that he used to be one of Waels biggest critics. Some have said this complete 180 degree change was due to the moderator having business put his way by Wael. There are also a couple of regular posters who have become very close to the President and who have fairly regular contact with him as they have his contact details. I won’t name them but I think they expose themselves by jumping onto any post, which questions his leadership. I keep saying that anything we write is not going to make any difference as the majority of supporters do not know of or use any forum. Take the number of active posters on both forums and you will see that we are a small and insignificant minority. Sadly, it does seem that people have been banned for questioning the actions, or inaction, of our owner.

You just got to love this guy for putting so much money into the club and keeping us going Thanks Wael if your reading this forum A fool & his money are easily parted, we have all heard this saying. Yes, Wael and Dwane sports, whoever they are, have put many millions into the club but what progress have we made ? Back to the same division we were in, when they took over and now a club that,I’d venture, would not have any people interested in buying & because of the millions it would cost to buy, unless Wael decided to sell but not want all of the money spent, paid back. Evolution not revolution was the language continually used yet we have sctuallly gone bsckwards. It’s tragic Ian. Sorry but I’m not grateful and I honestly believe we are in the most precarious situation than we have ever been in. If Wael doesn’t provide B***** with a big budget and we don’t get a couple of striker in, we may not have seen the worst of it yet. I am hoping we have a great season but we still have a large number of contracted players that Garner bought in. I think it would be better to let them go, even on a free, to get them off of the wages they leech from the club. I can see B***** becoming very frustrated when he realises what his budget he has to work with

And if so who to? A debt ridden League 2 club that rarely achieves the Championship.. There don't seem to be many locals queuing up although we are told by knowall and his chums there are loads. Yet to see their money though... How many international buyers are there? Owners like the Leicester owner are few and far between.

Personally, I always doubted that there were TEN parties or business men who were prepared to buy the club when the Al-Qadi family bought it. I also found it poor form that Wael was excitedly telling people how easy it was to buy us. My own view is that his father basically bought his son an FC to give him something to do, which indulged a football fan in his dream. In essence a hobby for a football fan. I doubt any of his family would have ever thought that he would have spent as much as he has. I imagine that, if Hani were still involved, things would be very different as he was keen on the FM and actively encouraged Ken and Steve Hamer to pursue it

I did add the caveat that he would need to put it back into the same place that he found it, with a viable stadium plan in place, plans drawn up, planning sorted, shovel ready. He may have to reduce the price a bit as the losses now are just silly compared to where they were, so restructuring that isn't going to happen for free.

The guy that posted in here as gasandproud who, I think said his name is David Townsend, did say that he was talking on behalf of simeine who tried to engage with Wael on a stadium project. I think they are both locals and that the project will go ahead, with or without us. if he is around, I wonder how that is progressing ? Sounded like they were just waiting on confirmed planning. I do think there are a fair few locals who would show interest but only if there was a realistic purchase price. If you are around David, please give any updates if possible

It was embarrassing. Having witnessed that, anybody who sends Masters into important negotiations on their behalf needs their head read.

It’s a two part question LIS because firstly there is the crazy financial commitment and the ill conceived nature of the project which you know my views on. But secondly we can now see the implimentation has been bungled as well. Almondsbury Gas does a great job keeping fans informed on the development and my comments shouldn’t be construed as any criticism of him. But from the pictures he posts it’s clear the work on the club house has stalled and this week he showed photos where we saw that only now is mains electricity being connected. But the new planning application on the South Glos website gives an indication that something is not quite right. Womble is far better placed to explain this but it looks to me as though South Glos may have some reservations about Rovers using the site without all planning conditions having been fulfilled. There is a line in the Kendall Kingscott Architects letter dated June 1st that reads “BRFC wish to occupy the proposed buildings” and this implies that until they get the go ahead from South Glos they can’t ? Training is scheduled to start there in two weeks time !
