I was thinking that the new development would include some housing attached. University site just up the road. Just amazed how small the Brentford site is in terms of acerage. The Mem will also be flogged for housing. Even the new proposed Stand at Fulham will include 9 apartments with view over the Thames. The Mem will be sold but not to pay for a new stadium that will be owned by the club or its holding company. Stadium ownership was good whilst it lasted. Just think what we could have done with £17m equity if it hadn't been pissed against the wall. Why have you used pissed in the past tense? It's still going on.

Why have you used pissed in the past tense? It's still going on. Is there anything left? That's a very good question and one that I don't know the answer to. As you would know, there was a number that kept being mentioned for the deal involving the Civil Service Club site, I think £24m or £25m, it's a while ago now, but I think that was it. But I think that site is a bit bigger and doesn't come with a massive structure that needs demolishing. Both sites have similar access issues, so your guess is as good as mine.

I think the clue is in the figure of £17.5m which Dwane Sports have guaranteed to cover.

If that really is the value of the site then something has to change soon.

Maybe the demolition costs are reliant on how much we pay people to take the tent pegs out. Then pay someone to fold up the tarpaulin and a man with a van to take it away. Jobs a good'un. Clever these Jordanians...

Can't even be arsed to scroll back through, but think the demolition costs were to contrast our site against the Civil Service field value. The Mem stands, the proper ones, will cost a bit to deal with. Only 17 days of this month left, then the news is a full year late. I think that Knowall and all of the others who have been stirring this up owe us either an explanation or an apology.

To be fair the failed attempt by a third party to resurrect the UWE deal finally fell through around November 2018. The 'hope' of good news / new Stadium / new owners evaporated at the same time. We've had nothing since then until the words "Fruit Market!" were uttered forth from Wael's mouth, without him fully engaging his brain before speaking. However it does feel like the Fruit Market may have the whiff of a plausibility about it, and hopefully without Dwane Sports. Hope springs eternal. But I for one, will not be holding my breath.

Oh good, so there's no harm in naming the people who were going to bring this deal back, especially as UWE had already said that they had moved on to other plans and Wael had said that the deal was dead. Would be good to know who was that stupid, just so that we can point at them and laugh.

Ed Ware + whatever financial backing he managed to cobble together (that bit was never clear). It was nothing to do with Dwane Sports. Wael alluded it to it in that awful interview back in February 2019 (I think). Mind you the awful Wael waffle interviews tend to blend in to each other. "Nothing concrete, these things take time you know". Smile and try and sound genuine. Copy & paste. Copy & paste. UWE was dead as far as Wael was concerned because UWE/Dwane Sports had finished contractual negotiations. I presume the names of the 3rd parties were not communicated by the Club because of NDA's. Which in this case, is fair enough. But it was bound to leak at some stage. Not everything "the ciders" write at the other place is complete tosh. Now you just go and have a super Saturday Bambi. UTG.

If it's, for example, a failed local businessman trying to spend other people's money, then at least we would know not to waste any time taking it seriously, if on the other hand it's someone sensible then we could maybe think about what the future may hold. Of course though, as has been said many times, we are in a world of trouble if any new owners are messing around with the likes of Knowall and telling them confidential stuff, knowing full well that he will run straight home and plaster it all over the internet.

Is not leaking one's business plans to internet gossips a standard part of the due diligence process?

Not sure if that sort of information is coming from any new prospective owners. I think it's leaked from frustrated members of the current Board / senior management and passed on to knowall/the ciders. I totally agree that is not professional. It is Bristol Rovers after all - what did you expect? It's possibly symptomatic of a fractured Boardroom and frustration vented at the somewhat less than breakneck pace of evolution we've been witnessing over the last 3 1/2 years. Keeps the Forums ticking over anyway...

I know people in all parts of the club, the lines of information went cold the day these owners arrived, all that was left was speculation, no leaks from the top whatsoever. Having said that, Wael did drop the ball, albeit under a bit of pressure, a couple of weeks back, but that wasn't an orchestrated leak.

Agreed - Wael says foolish things and cracks under any kind of gentle probing by 20man. As for the leaks around the Fruit Market - first mentioned on the other place back in March 15th (yattongas). So although Dwane Sports keep it tight. They don't keep it watertight...
