I am hearing decent things about Rhys Kavanagh. Over the last 3 weeks I have watched quite a number of reserve premier and championship games and youth games and there are a good number of young players who would fit the bill for rovers in every position it remains to be seen if rovers have been watching the same games

So who has caught your eye, Padstow? Unfortunately I cannot say due to the fact I work for another club but if I was approached by roversion to ask my opinion on certain players I could give them any info they wanted plus inadvertently slip another players name who I think merits looking at

He did say that he approached the club several times but had no response let alone get the players looked at. He appeared on the old club forum and I think on both that we have now. I have to say, i was impressed with the detail he went into but it seems he got a fair bit of stick and would react in kind. It’s one thing targeting a player and another getting him, as you know. It seems that many other clubs now watch non league and prices have gone up due to that

I wrote to Tommy W about Nadesan who was on loan at Carlisle.
I got no response, which was disappointing as I had spoken to him at length at a function.
Have you ever spoken to Tommy W, Padstow?

Chew over the cud? Do you ever bump into Rovers scouts.
Surely it's one big, happy scouting community.

Not for a number of years they are conspacious by their absence.last one I met was based in the Midlands can't recall his name now. I do bump into a few I know but it is better to keep a low profile then you are not making others aware of what or who you are looking at. A lot of scouts apply to clubs for passes to game which is a give away I prefer to buy a ticket and sit or stand with the fans of the player I am due to watch.you get a bit of information from them without asking

I now remember the first username but didn’t know he was still active on here. I used to read his reports with interest as he must watch a lot of football. He was always very thorough in what the players strong and weaker points were. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be, to try so hard yet not even be acknowledged

Under what system? Do you think the manager could take such players, improve them and the team?

Very few owners are popular with fans and so they get tarred with an unfair reputation.I have always found him sensible and knowledgeable but that is just my opinion based on first hand knowledge

Isn't that what a prospect is if the player was mid to late 20s then they wouldn't be a prospect.he was putting those players forward it is up to others to decide their worthiness after all wasn't Ellington a prospect when we signed him

I said that I could look at the websites of the 5th and 6th tier teams and could see who had represented their country at youth level, and not leave my office once, so I asked him for a couple of names of players who may be 'under the radar', he came back with more lads who had represented England already.

It is difficult for him because of his illness he can only watch videos from around the world as well as this country.he spends most of his time doing this but he is well intentioned if a bit over enthusiastic however that is exactly what will dubey said he did so he is in good company.
