Welcome Tony Craig ...great signing Billericay chairman is apoplectic after Craig pulled out of the deal early this morning.said they shook hands on a deal and the paperwork was due to be signed this morning then he gats a call from Craigs agent to say deal is off. Shades of Clive platt So where is that reported? Is it possible the reference in the Tweet was to someone else, and even if it was him he was stupid making that tweet without a signed contract.

All these in the know, the so sure and I've heard it from etc etc should adjust there radar a bit and sure provide opinions but supplying 'knowledge' that is totally crap, causes unsettled feelings, a bit more patience and it would be better all round.

Gaschat yesterday was a sight to read. Constant moaning.
Now it appears in this window we have:
(a) permanent signing of one of the better wingers in the Conference; Tick (b) A very experience centre back; tick (c) and assuming the report about Kyle Bennett is correct, a winger who was very good last season in a rival team and yes may have slightly lost his way but looks like he can do a job in a position we were lacking; tick
and apart from (a) appears we have paid no transfer fees; tick
Add to that a young centre back going out on loan to a team only one division below us so he will come back better; tick
All in all in my book a good transfer window.

I also think an excellent signing - yesterday was sure was going to happen, but by the end of last night I was told he had signed elsewhere (from this site btw). I kept checking the Billericay twitter and website and was really surprised they hadn't posted what would have been an unbelievable signing for them. 2+2=

Trying to look at the picture on the official website, anyone else think that the shadows of the stand show a setting sun as opposed rising one? That would mean it was sorted yesterday, but he must have had something last minute to consider.

Agreed. They should also have the humility to apologise, but judging by previous false rumours posted by the "in the know mob on here, that's unlikely.

So he's signed, taken official pictures at the club, been interviewed as a Bristol Rovers player and looking forward to playing for Bristol Rovers with his wealth of experience with Millwall. Anyone else want to insist Billericay Town have signed him? And more importantly can someone enlighten me as to who Robbie Ryan is? I genuinely have zero memory of this person.

Robbie Ryan played for Milwall in an FA Cup final in May (cant remember the year) then signed for us that summer, I thought he was going to be amazing and that we had turned the corner budget wise, neither was the case, but he was ok.

Ah yes - but the thing is you see we missed out on Messi because we couldn't agree personal terms. He wanted a flat above the Welly and our budget wouldn't stretch to that..... What makes me laugh about transfer window business is that there is always a subset of people who no matter who we sign will always back with comments like 'underwhelming', 'never heard of him', 'a load of average players' etc. Do these people think that during the transfer window we suddenly become Manchester United? We support a lower league football team that is in the market for lower league football players - so unless you really are a very keen and comprehensive observer of lower and non-league football (and these people really are few and far between - I'm certainly not) then chances are you will not have heard of the players we have signed before or know anything at all useful about what they are like as players. At best you will probably vaguely remember how their team did when we played against them. I honestly think 90% of the players we sign I have not heard of before because I'm only really interested in lower league footballers when they are playing for Bristol Rovers - is that being a bit too honest?

The interview was obviously done last night, as he was looking forward to meeting the players today. Don't know why it wasn't announced - just to keep us guessing perhaps.

"I was one of them, didn't know about Bennett until today but again another uninspiring easy signing."
