We couldnt force Bodin to sign the contract he was offered So why didn't we make him an improved offer,we will never replace him for the money we are reported to have got for him. Hang on we could sign another player like Nicholls for that sort of fee.For gods sake bring back Higgs. without knowing what we offered him, it's not as easy to say offer him more is it.
Perhaps Bodin (or his agent more likely) looked at Taylor and thought he could get some of that 8/9/10k+ which we simply couldn't give him and by not signing keep his transfer value down to get better wages

It's not even a guess, it's a silly number written to provoke a reaction.

We would never have been able to match the offer of Championship football and the massive jump in wages. Good player is sold to a higher level, it happens all the time. Move on, the big question now is will he be replaced and by who. A good manager backed by a good chairman will already have a replacement lined up.

We have a young manager who seems to know his way around non-League, stood next to him is someone who will have plenty of contacts at higher levels, so that part of it is sorted. The other half of the equation, the Chairman, all we have to go on so far is how Hamer has reacted when under a bit of pressure, that hasn't been great, so OK, let's look at his record, how did things work out for him at Swansea?

Our best player moves up a division and yet again, an argument breaks out in an empty room on here.
Well done Billy and thank you for the great ability you brought to us.

I watched him walk to the dugout the other day, will that count ? With that ability to misunderstand what's going on, there may be a career for you defending hopeless cases in court Well Bamber i am a complete hopeless case myself, will you defend me against all these heathens on here ?

Let's be honest lads we're in no better or no worse a situation than we have been since purchasing a ground that the old board mothballed for various pie in the sky developments. We've always sold players, we are a selling club historically. We've been doing it since the early 60's. Now, to a greater or lesser extent we should be looking to follow the examples of clubs like Preston & Barnsley. Buying players on relatively low fees, from the lower leagues, non-league, Scotland, Ireland and further afield, developing them and selling them for higher fees. Surround them with experienced pros that carry out the jobs required of them and we could in the next 2/3 years build a successful model that could hold its own in the Championship. To do that though, we'd need to adjust our scouting.

How about a Peterborough forward as a replacement for Billy? You know - one who does not score and does not get in dangerous positions. Preferably of below average height with a slight build and easily knocked off the ball. It's what we usually do.

Can you explain why that is an issue, given the club has no control over when the web site is updated, it could have been today and would you feel the same then ? The clubs webmaster has total control of what and when articles are published on the website. All i can say he must work late hours at night then, do we pay overtime ? it's difficult enough just to pay people at the club at the moment

Unless we are told why that didn't happen, with UWE saying that they wanted us to come back and continue discussions, it appears that the fault for it not being built sits with us.

We were never in the position to build UWE, that's why Higgs bailed.

All i can say he must work late hours at night then, do we pay overtime ? it's difficult enough just to pay people at the club at the moment I won’t discuss anybody’s wages on here. Articles can be published from any PC so the webmasters often post from Home if they are instructed to do so. Also articles can be timed to go live at any time the webmaster sets. Clever things these computers. ;-)

Handy for transfers where both clubs agree on a time and set the story to "go live" at that time, so that one doesn't gazump the other. Even the Pitchero websites, used at non-league and grass roots level, has the ability to set stories up to be released whenever you want.
