And so it goes on and on and on whilst our infrastructure remains in the dark ages.My village team have new covered accommodation and seating for visiting fans in the modest div 1 of the NW Counties league. If only we could see something actually happening.Personally,my instinct is that nothing major will happen in my lifetime and that those who are happy with new hand driers and another tent have already lowered their expectations.

Keith: If Darrell were to get the players in to be able to make an assault on the top 6 or automatic promotion the ground isn't really fit for purpose is it ? What comes first ? Wael: No, I mean, eventually, you tell me, I mean, huh, huh, huh. Well done, it's an awful question and you paraphrased a small part of the response to a follow up question and not the part that actually matters, Wael goes on to say "it's a balance between the two", this follows the evolution ethos and one most would agree with. It's easy to paraphrase and not give proper context, see if you can guess who said "To me, spending £2 million on this would be a mistake when that money, if used wisely, could turn the club around completely." Read more: gasheads.org/thread/6688/colony-update-brief?page=9#ixzz50L01cW8ZThis was a long serving and dedicated club employee asking his boss a reasonable question which all Gasheads would like an answer to and the first response was "you tell me" and a giggle. If you think this is acceptable and you think the follow up answer of "it's a balance between the two" is adequate then I have to disagree. We are not talking about a local self made businessman being interviewed here this is a man who is proclaimed as "a very important person in world football" and who attended Westminster School, Boston University and Harvard Business School. Knowing that Steve and Wael probably read the forums I am careful to only post what I should say to them face to face. If I was face to face with Wael I should tell him what I thought of the interview and say to him that Rovers fans want to help him but he has to up his performance by being better prepared with his presentations and more realistic in what he tells us he is going to do. Promising slow evolution along with huge capital expenditure on a non-essential training ground when the club is losing cash at the rate of £2 million per year is IMO an unrealistic strategy especially when his brother is apparently breathing over his shoulder about finances. Of course if cash was plentiful then a training ground would be wonderful but Steve's interview gave us a clear insight into the true situation and we should take heed of that.

because whatever happens (if anything)will be a couple of years away at least and things need doing.
of course the flipside is if they have no intentions, or no plans and Hani is a tight arse, why spend any money at all
Great question. What is the budget for the upgrade of current facilities in the summer? £1,000? £10,000? £100,000, £1,000,000 (LOL)? Maybe if they said what they were going to spend and where they were going to spend it - that would placate people. Right now - looks like a throwaway comment to keep fans off of their back and give Dwane Dibbly Sports breathing space for another 7 months. How much does a second hand Portakabin and a couple of dozen tins of Dulux cost?

You hit the nail on the head, it was an employee asking his boss a question, they obviously know each other and get on quite well so it was an informal Q&A in an informal setting not a board room tête-à-tête with Paxman.

The only concrete detail I am aware of is that the Colony will open on July 1st 2019. There is no detail whatsoever pertaining to the Memorial Stadium redevelopment (because I believe that is a figment of Wael's imagination). We have a bit of non-specific waffle about moving the shop and applying a lick of paint to the bogs and bars. Not good enough. Details are good. They deal with things that are deliverable in the future. They give me some confidence that there is actually a plan.As others have noted - why would we upgrade current facilities when the alleged plan is to knock down everything and piecemeal redevelop anyway? We haven't been given any details. Because they patently don't have a plan, and have been treading water since August 3rd. So if Wael came out and said "We plan to rebuild the Mem in stages and could take upto 10 years with a projected start date in 5 years" would that make people happy ?? No, not happy but at least confident that the club will still exist as brfc 1883. Right now I feel dread that this may not be the case. I’m sure Hani wants out and although I can’t back that up, I feel we are but a pawn in between a family rift

I've just watched it again
I think KB generally does a much better job than people give him credit for in terms of asking the right questions. I think he did it again here - and wasn't easily fobbed off (he can't force anyone to give an answer)
also, right at the end, Wael seemed much stronger on 'I am here for the long term' than he was with 'the family are here for the long term'. I wonder if that wasn't a little bit of a 'tell'

Wael's vision for our club has now been downgraded to tinpot forever, I find that completely uninspiring.

Hasn't it? Keep the faith. The statement was
"Wael's vision for our club has now been downgraded to tinpot forever"
I don't think his vision is tinpot forever
What the reality is, is a different thing all together.
I notice we are hiring match day hospitality staff this week. A few weeks ago they were all let go as there was no money and they weren't being paid allegedly.
I am not 'keep the faith' or blindly supporting, but there are so many contradictions about at the moment, picking the truth from the BS isn't easy
