I think you're right there daniel. And some of those things were 'things we hadn't even thought of', which seemed to demonstrate vision as well as commitment but the investment tide turned some time ago, didn't it, and it doesn't seem to be coming back in again? According to rumours, but not sure if it totally has changed. We were advertising for a club doctor to work with the team not long ago. We have offered Bodin a new contract, obviously I'm not sure of the terms though. Still arranging development games on a regular basis. Still sending coaches on courses aid there development etc. So how do we know they have stopped investing? Window does not open until January, so until then, it's hard to know how much they are still investing. They never said they would invest £10 million a season. All the extras add up every week though. so if the family are finding out that 'it cost more to run a professional football club here than they anticipated' (or words to that effect), and Hani (or maybe Dad, or maybe a combination of people) has shut the door on big cheques, where does that leave things? I'm thinking that it would take a pretty tough family, absent a genuine crisis, to deprive Happy Wael of his dream - which he has been making rapid strides towards achieving. But also, the family would want to minimise the drain on their combined finances in that situation the logical things to do might be; - put pressure on Wael to be more creative
- slow the flow of investment into occasional drips - hence the 'development in phases'
- find outside funding partners - which was probably part of the original plan, however sketchy
it seems to me that most things are decided by politics as much as money, and that family politics can be some of the hardest to work out or influence. Reading between the lines, it seems that Wael needs to get better at it - especially if it's true that the UWE contract sat on Hani's desk for a long time before they all realised he wouldn't sign it

As I said on the other forum, it seems pretty obvious that there has been a re-evaluation of business strategy regarding Dwane and the football club, however that doesn’t mean the Hani wants out, there is no money, impending doom scenario prophesised is going to happen.
Perhaps the balance as always is somewhere in the middle. They have been taken by surprise by the running costs and the UWE project has fallen for some reason and things need to be looked at.
We may not have the sugar daddy owners some hoped for, but they may not be the devil incarnate either. Perhaps we will just end up with a better run football club. For all the talk on not spending money, or it’s running out, they are still doing a good job of spending it, if they are looking to get out and increasing the debt that they would be owed and making it harder for them to get back
This is not me being a rose tinter, or looking for positives as such, but being told the training ground has been scaled back and Hani is ‘only’ going to spend £2m when we don’t have a training ground anyway is hardly the worst crime in the world of BRFC. Of course some people now fear BRFC are going to be charged a ridiculous rent. Of course if we aren’t making any operating profits, surely in that scenario that is just Dwane footing the bill somewhere or at worst, increasing the ‘debt’ and we are back to how they ever get that money back when they are approaching the limit of the value of The Mem etc, etc
It may not be all rosey and peachy, but the demise of BRFC on and off the pitch may have been exaggerated slightly in recent weeks

As I said on the other forum... Firstly, how dare you? There is no other forum. Secondly, I hope you're right. But my worry is that DS end up not BRFC's owners but BRFC's landlord and creditor. So I really hope you're right.

So I really hope you're right. I hope I am right, but yes there is that scenario. The only trouble I have with that is, there is no reason for them to spend any money on The Colony and if they ended up being landlords, what is there realistic expectation for repayment of north of £12m bearing in mind the club doesn't make any money?
