If our clubs new and wonderful ambition comes true will that simply price out the ordinary salt of the earth people that follow rovers through thick and mostly thin? Is it a relevant issue? If our all seater stadium prices out all the noisy poorly paid riff raff is that exceptable in the name of progress? Is it ok to be like chelsea this season? i went there and all there lovely quiet supporters didnt quite know what to make of us noisy idiots from bristol?? Is it a price worth paying? Lots of lovely sensible quiet well meaning fans from the local conservative club saying how splendid stuart sinclair is apart from his vulgar hippy beard? Obviously top class football is getting too expensive for ordinary people,so is that ok as long as we hit the heights? Well is it?

So were you happy under the old regime that nearly left us with no club at all? Are you happy with a stadium that is barely fit for purpose? Do you not want the club to progress or just happy to bounce between L1 and L2 (hopefully not the National League again!)? Bring on the new improved Rovers I say.

You'll be very welcome at the new arena as long as you don't get any greasy lard from the chip on your shoulder on the nice plastic seats.

We could always do what the likes of Bradford and Huddersfield do/have done assuming the TV contracts are still ludicrous

So for OP, is the ideal to stay at the Mem in L2 or below so can prices can be kept down?

ST prices rose a WHOPPING £5-£10 in the last seven years.

Our average attendance last season was 3,000 under capacity (which, I believe at 12,296 doesn't include segregation and takes it down by about 300). That included 6/23 with a gate of over 10,000 and was our best average attendance since 1975/76. Suggests the pricing is OK at the moment.
When we move however, there might need to be a move to lower prices to fill up the ground. Well, if we move.

Wael Al-Qadi didn't buy the Club just to make money (if he ever does). He bought it partly because he got swept up with the passion of the supporters. I don't think for a second you need to think about people being 'priced out'. Without the noisy drunken idiots - we wouldn't be the Gas. Although some 50 year old yobs could do with moderating their behaviour a bit. Including me. "top class football is getting too expensive for ordinary people" Well that's a high quality problem we can worry about when we get to the Prem. Personally - not sure if I would ever want to see us in the Prem. It's just not Rovers is it?

There is a compromise to be found, I'm sure.

Blueiris: There is always a different way! m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40383690...it just takes some thought to work it out and come to the conclusion it doesn't always have to be like that.

So for OP, is the ideal to stay at the Mem in L2 or below so can prices can be kept down? No,we need a new ground and the club has to strive to get into the championship and ultimately the premiership. Just believe there is a price to pay metaphorically if/when these things happen.

But I'm afraid if you subscribe to todays ethos of modern capitalism, that tis the way of the world. Tis all about supply and demand, simples! I don't think anyone here needs explanation of that. Like I said earlier, there are other ways. Just need forward thinking to implement such a concept..

The papers love to bang on about how expensive top flight football is, but it's easy to get tickets to most Premier League games for around £30. Granted, that's more than we pay to stand and watch Rovers, but in a sane world you would expect to pay more to be entertained by Ruthie Henshall than by Susan Boyle, wouldn't you?

I'd pay an awful lot more money NOT to be entertained by Susan Boyle tbh!!

If anyone thinks I'm being a bit hard on the very very average pub singer from West Lothian, watch this, then compare to the number being murdered by Ms Boyle.
