Had a quick check on the online tickets and although it's a rough estimate, it looks like no more than a couple of thousand sold with just over a week to go.
The first round of the cup is never a big seller, but thought this one might have been doing better, being the first home game of the season and not played Cardiff for a while.
A couple of weeks back I did wonder to start with if people were waiting for pay day, or waiting to purchase tickets when attending a pre-season game.
So what could be stopping people going to this game?
- Not interested in the League Cup? - Live on Sky so watching at home? - Didn't realise that tickets need to be bought in advance? - Getting mixed up thinking this is the EPL Trophy, that they planned to boycott, and not the EPL Cup?

Can you pay on the day? Website says "All Ticket", which I've taken to mean you have to buy a ticket in advance and can't pay on the day: www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/cardiff-tickets-hospitality-on-sale-3205663.aspx

I've really no idea why less interest. Maybe it's holiday season mixed in with combinations of ones given?
It appears last time we played home to Cardiff in league cup was almost exactly 40 years ago (give or take a few days) with a 4-4 draw.
I guess in this case absence hasn't made the heart grow fonder!

I'm considering staying away in protest at the decision to move it Thursday for television. The protest would also include not watching it on television.
I'm more annoyed that they shifted the Oxford game to Sunday as a result of this being on a Thursday than the fact its on a Thursday in itself, and I'm also a bit miffed they've made it all ticket for no reason whatsoever, taking my ability to decide whether to go on the day out of the question.
I reserve the right to change my mind, but as it stands I'm thinking I won't bother with this one. Which will make it the first proper home game I can ever remember not going to for no better reason than I didn't want to.

TV makes a big difference, I would go otherwise but fancy watching us live on the box instead.

Thanks, Seems a bit daft making it all ticket. Understatement or what. This will mean old bill same as Swansea and I think most are fatigued with cups that don't mean anything or are relevant today.

I have booked a table that night to take some customers, if I had realised they were letting any old riff raff in, I wouldn't have bothered!

I remember that night it was a 2 legged first round then,Tony Evans scored all 4 goals for Cardiff and they went through 6-5 on aggregate..
Cardiff always brought a good few fans over and I don't remember a crowd under 5000 even for the Anglo Scottish cup first round game a couple of seasons later, that was a good crowd for games like that, Rovers v Cardiff was a bit tasty I suppose because Rovers usually had a few players from around Cardiff in the team.

Yep if you call crying being told that the normal 3 course was a breakfast then yes I did back out of it. I've never been one to be one of the pack and I did what I did.

FWIW, i agreed with KP, it was not acceptable to change the terms at such a late time, he has my respect and understanding for pulling out.
