The Bristol Rovers Football Club Open Day will take place at the Memorial Stadium on Monday 1st August 2016, from 12.00 noon to 4.00pm. It's been very difficult to arrange this year's event, given the number of pre-season games, the change to a new kit supplier and the fact that the squad are spending a week at a training camp in Spain. We appreciate that holding the event on a weekday means that not all of our supporters will be able to attend, but hope that they appreciate the reasons why it's one of the few days on which it could be held. The event is free to attend and among the attractions and types of entertainment confirmed are: Fans' first opportunity to purchase the new season's kit Meet Manager Darrell Clarke and his first team squad. Behind-the-scenes tours of the dressing room Face painting BBQ Raffle for a signed shirt Open Day Schedule: 11.00am Shirt sponsor player handover (DriBuild suite) 12.00noon Official opening 12.15pm onwards Dressing Room tours 12.15pm - 3.00pm Player autographs 2.30pm Raffle draw for shirt 3.00pm Players depart 4.00pm Event closes Please note that the Club Shop at The Memorial Stadium will be open from 9.00am - 5.00pm Read more at www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/rovers-2016-fun-day-date-announced-3171258.aspx#mKEfDVqikgHXeAds.99

Just in the interest of fairness, the previous board would have been slaughtered for this.

First own goal by the new owners/ management and it will certainly not get the numbers that it would have. Such a shame this was not worked out so that it was on a weekend. Bamber is right, if this was Higgsy then there would be uproar

Definitely poor. Not sure why they couldn’t have made it an evening event.
As for NH and co. They probably would have got plenty of stick, but that comes with the territory and what you have sewn before doesn’t it. The new owners are in credit at the moment so are surely going to get off more leniently

Just in the interest of fairness, the previous board would have been slaughtered for this. very true. it's all about perception and history. the perception is that the new owner is perfect and of course he has no history of failure, arguments etc. the previous Board had a LOT of history.

Didn't this event used to be on a Friday evening? I've only ever been to 3 and they were all on weekends.

They used to be evenings (can't remember which day of the week). Changed to Sundays a few years back.

Not exactly the end of the world. I'm sure we will get over this.

Waiting for a full explanation of why it couldn't be either a weekend or at least start and finish later on the day so that people could get home from work and then pop along with the children? Players leaving at 3 means it not even possible to take the children straight from school to meet them. I think it's a bank holiday in Scotland but not England, so maybe someone arranged it without realising it was a normal working day here?

If so then I take it all back and the date makes a lot more sense
