Luke James has signed on loan from Peterborough United. Looks like a great signing to me. Probably means he'll turn out to be sh*t.

Season loan with option to make a bid at end of it.I assume I saw him play against Rovers, but can't quite remember. We do create chances for strikers,so fingers crossed.

There is no doubting his ability and potential.
Just....attitude. I'm all for a bit of militancy but going on strike is a bit 'different'. Also, Bradford terminated his loan spell prematurely.
Cautiously optimistic from me..

Certainly looked a decent player when playing against us But a loan with a permanent option hopefully benefits us and doesn't hinder to much if he did stray out of line
I notice it says he has been given squad number 29. not that they mean anything but did they announce the squad numbers already?

Well in the training pics they all seem to have new Macron gear and their old numbers. Hartley had inherited Parkes number and Moore had taken Preston's. With MT yet to commit to staying or going 10 won't be allocated which makes 29 the lowest available free number...if all the first and second year professionals accepted what they had been offered. Did not see Lucas or Thomas in the training pics but then I wasn't scouring them!!

having watched his goals compilation on youtube i do remember him against us, he ticks a lot of boxes but however his goals to games ratio is poor; 151 apps 21 goals and mostly in div 2. lets hope that DC can get the best out of him as he has done with Taylor.

Don't know about his quality although it looks good but this is exactly the right type of signing to be making IMO. Young but with over 150 games and a player on the way up with something to prove. With the likes of Macca, Mansell, Sinclair, Lee Brown and Mildy around him and a tight, well formed squad he could do very well esp with DCs guidance. Now we should give him time to settle in. UTG!

Another signing that fits in with the philosophy of inexpensive and non marquee. With the help of the great set of lads we have plus a top manager, this is a player that has excellent potential to get back to there best. Byron Moore & Luke James were stand out talents 2/3 years ago, lets hope they can get back to that with us, if they can we could be in for another decent season.

Of course there may well be mitigating factors, especially for a young man - how long were those appearances for, was he with a team that struggled to create chances (yes he was!), Was he often played deep or out wide etc. I seem to remember his name, which must mean he stuck out in some way !
