Good news about the South West Stand.
No matter how many terrace tickets are still available, the fact that we'd been selling out the seats for a long time must have been a concern. There will be a fair proportion who prefer to sit, or even will only go if they can sit, due to factors such as health, height, wanting to take children.

HOPEFULLY increasing our capacity? Surely more seats = more capacity?

Yes the tall bloke with the biggest head in Bristol and ears like taxi doors who manages to find a way o stand in front of me every match

This is potentially great news... Does 're clad' and new seats mean replacing the tent with a permanent structure without ten supporting pillars blocking the view?
Reintroducing the south west stand I imagine means getting the old Guiness stand out of storage.

That could be a worrying undertone. But on the other hand it is likely to be two seasons from start to finish for a build project (guesstimate) so it would be shortsighted to not take advantage of potential income during this period with these changes. I'm sure someone has done a cost benefit analysis on this and worked out increased demand will cover the outlay or close to it anyway. Plus, assuming we retain these new found supporters, we have an increased base to transfer over to the new stadium.

As I'm into my eighth decade, the likelihood of me actually seeing a new stadium is becoming remote. If I do, I'll probably be too gaga to appreciate it! (Steady with your comments on the last bit, lads)!

I would suggest that Health and Safety have also had an input into improvements that we have no way out of. Told but can't confirm that we will soon have issues with the Dribuild Stand

Told but can't confirm that we will soon have issues with the Dribuild Stand I can confirm that our Mr Harper did allude to this being the case when we played Yeovil in the last 3 games. There have been arguments and problems with disabled spots and more. It does need sorting though Brian

Says it all that, though relatively modest, this is probably the biggest investment in the Mem for nearly 20 years.
There is the North Terrace Roof, but then we paid for that.

The last time Rovers paid for any significant permanent structure themselves was the Tote End in 1935.

In 1996 the west stand was a shell and it was our arrival that allowed the old Bristol Rugby to gain the the finance to complete it. However after Rover's took ownership of the Memorial Ground that the North Stand was covered, the South Stand was purchased and the family stand was covered and the name was changed to 'stadium '

The rugby club built the West Stand (unfortunately, because its rubbish).
