The last time Rovers paid for any significant permanent structure themselves was the Tote End in 1935. This sort of negative "off the cuff" comment really annoys! This quote simply is not true. In 1996 the west stand was a shell and it was our arrival that allowed the old Bristol Rugby to gain the the finance to complete it. However after Rover's took ownership of the Memorial Ground that the North Stand was covered, the South Stand was purchased and the family stand was covered and the name was changed to 'stadium ' north stand ?, blackthorn end ?. the fans paid for that
