Right Gasheads, as a show of solidarity with the Wombles, how about for the MK Dons AFC Wimbledon game at Stadium MK, we have an awayday and give 'The Franchise' a load of s**te and roar the Wombles to victory. I'm on holiday, mildly pissed and it sounds a great idea having just watched the game. Thoughts please?

Even more galling for the Accies, Wimbledon were 10 points behind them with an inferior goal difference, sometimes the play offs are really unfair, but that's the rules everyone signed up to.

Wonderful achievement for Wimbledon. Makes a total mockery of the decision to move the original club to Milton Keynes which was wrong on so many levels.
Wouldn't want to be an MK Dons player, supporter or official going to their place next season. Might be an idea for the FA to ban away fans that day.
Confident Plymouth would have finished higher than Wimbledon next season so good news for us.

More galling than the goal Accies scored at Wimbledon only for the referee to blow up for half time when the ball was travelling into the net?

I wanted Plymouth to win the play off final.Don`t really understand the hostility to MK as the argument that many football clubs would be franchised never materialized.

Or is it, as I suspect, because Wimbledon got the better of United on several occasions? It's acceptable for a town/city to buy a football league club and claim it as their own?

To allow a rich boy to come in and take a club away from its roots surely must concern supporters, and then see the 'fans' celebrating their existence is too much. I think the reaction to the move caused the farts in blazers in the FA to have second thoughts. Last time I was at MK with number 2 son in a queue and some prat in front with his mate was saying, "I think other supporters accept us now...etc" and my son gave them a string of abuse - made me proud that a youngster was equally annoyed about the franchise as I am. As a simplistic illustration, two seasons ago we were heading to being a basket case, and ripe for some rich clown to buy the club and move it to Bedford or somewhere and become Bedford Rovers or Somewhere Rovers while AFC Bristol Rovers start by ground sharing with Mangotsfield at level 9. It's not so much as hostility to MK, but hostility to franchising, there's only one but that's one too many and fans must demonstrate against MK as a manifestation of franchising.

Effectively Winkelman brought Milton Keynes a football league team. Had they reformed in the regional non-leagues and rose up through the pyramid I might have a modicum of respect for them.
