I believe both Steve and Wael joined the BRSC in Feb so they can attend the AGM amongst others things. Both also regularly buy 50/50 tickets. sold by BRSC
That is good news if that is the case so why hasn't Jim told us if they have Harry or have I missed that announcement and apologise now if I have ? Why put on a show as he did in his jottings to try and put distance between a very hard and loyal working group of supporters and the new owners (by staff's own admission they see and speak to the new owners more often now than they ever did before), do you have any inkling why he would have done that ? As a long time BRSC member it really doesn't make any sense to me. Not sure if he announced Nick Higgs was/is a BRSC member as well. Not convinced a special announcement is necessary to be honest. I don't believe he tried or attempted to distance himself I know he was as we all were excited at the take over and decision not to appeal the Sainsburys case further. I personally feel an open top bus celebration should have happened too. For Jim and his committee they all felt the same but it is not an issue to distance themselves from the new owners and chairman.

Am I alone in thinking that open-top bus celebrations are very "old hat/yesterday" when fans can chat with players in Twitterdom, take selfies, etc? I would extend the Open Day to include some appropriate event. (even if a few players may have left).

Jon has already met with Steve Hamer and Wael Al Qadi, he got both of them to stump up £10 and both are members of the FFSC ! I bet neither of them are members of the supporters club though . Both Steve and Wael make themselves available during the week, reply to e-mails/twitter and particularly Wael on match days to fans around the ground. There is no reason I can think of that Jim, Brian or even Ken couldn't meet with them formally or informally unless they are hiding from them. Perhaps they have met with them but don't want to give us the impression they are getting too cosy with them and giving up their independence. I believe both Steve and Wael joined the BRSC in Feb so they can attend the AGM amongst others things. Both also regularly buy 50/50 tickets. sold by BRSC
So Jim not only insulted our President and Chairman, he also insulted two of his own Supporters Club members along the way. I hope Jim has had the good grace to apologise to Wael and Steve by now.

An open-top bus celebration for finishing 3rd in the old 4th Division is inappropriate.

I agree, but either way it doesn't warrant dummy spitting or inserting a lemon-sucking countenance into a feel-good factor. Roll on the next jottings.

Stapleton Road drinkers club was formed that afternoon after winning the league.

The Board decided that after the play-off win we should have an open-top celebration. Fine. We did 'win' something - the play-offs. I was happy to back the Board decision then to have an open-top bus celebration. And I'm happy to back the Board decision now not to have an open-top bus celebration. Let's hope it doesn't all kick off between the Stapleton Road Drinkers and the Gloucester Road Drinkers.

Personally I wouldn't comment on something someone hasn't said

The Stapleton Road drinkers may be ancient now but they could knockback their ale and still can....don't mess with them other wise Alf Homer will send the boys round to get you

Perhaps they should ask Jon how he managed it? Who has BSS met as he has said himself he has met someone and.discussed issues? It's quite easy to speak to Steve Hamer. I've contacted him twice and on both occasions he replied within 24 hours. Same thing with the Mrs. He replied very quickly. Good innit
