Don't worry, Lee. You'll get a new contract.

I don't think I've ever seen so many grammatical errors in such a short stream of consciousness. His old English teacher must be so proud.

Hold on a minute, I left school when I was 15! Where does that leave me?

Hold on a minute, I left school when I was 15! Where does that leave me? Probably with more experience of the job than a fast-tracked 21 year old graduate manager. (The 1 CSE in Art was a reference to Rodney in Fools and Horses, but he also had a Maths CSE.)

Fair enough but you're right, I probably do have more experience at road sweeping than Trigger!

He is way past his best and if we're lucky enough to go up then we will need better players than another yr older Lee Mansell I'm afraid. Been great for us yes, but we can't give players another yr's contract just because we like them. He probably knows he won't be able to compete in lge 1 also, that's life as a pro footballer.

I assume you aren't one of these that buys into the 'let's keep Harrison on, because he's probably a good character in the dressing room & our form suffers in his absence!"

I actually agree with this, Manse has been great for us, can't fault his commitment, he's clearly a top bloke, but he's also part of the midfield that is the reason we're 4th not 2nd or 3rd. The chances of him stepping up to a level he's barely (ever?) played at in his 34th year strikes me as low. If we don't go up, I'd maybe give him a year as a squad player. If we do, I'd suggest he do a Monkhouse.

Manse isn't the only player that should be jettisoned either, anyone that went to Portsmouth could tell you a few of our squad can't make the step up to the next level judging by that performance in a highly charged atmosphere which I hope can be witnessed more often by us fans in the not too distant future. Big fan of Manse. I see him as a slightly better looking but not quite as good version of Stu Campbell. Reckon he could survive in lg one but not young enough to be able to take it in his stride and hold down a place in the starting line up. The wembley penalty alone is worth giving him another year at least though!

Lower wage 2 yr 'backup for the first team' contract and start training him to be Marcus Stewart's replacement as the sweetener.

Bloke does a brilliant job at our level and if we don't offer him something I bet he is inundated by offers from good L2 & Conference sides. Hope he stay with us & we stay loyal to him.
