Can the new board have a series of fans open meetings...tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival ....big bulletin boards and chance for fans to propose their suggestions to engage with the fan base

The fact that on the east trace no one can decipher the announcements over the tannoy system is I think against health and safety regulations

I like it all but dare I say it, is it worth it now? It looks like we will get (please pinch me) our own new home. I would rather any money (well maybe except sorting out the disabled toilet) to be directed to the new stadium. I am just hoping that maybe our new owners will listen to some gas suggestions.

The new stadium is at least 18 months away, probably 30 months given that is likely to costs £40m is really spending £100K/200K on a decent tannoy, hand driers and a cost of paint, mending the scoreboard etc that big a ask? Imagine finding the hand drier in the toilets out of order at Tesco and when you complain they say don't worry it'll be fix in the new store in 2+ years time!!! As far as the Guinness stand assuming crowds at the Mem will be on the increase under the new owners then surely that is likely to earn the club money not cost it? I could never understand the business logic in getting rid of that when we were still a league club.

We are not used to money and part of me says lets be careful, but at the same time let's splash out on the new stadium. Silly things (well maybe not so silly) like giant pictures of our history, statues of Rovers hero's, an area of remembrance, making sure that it is an inclusive stadium. it's weird in a way but the Millenium and lot's of other stadiums I have been in look great on the outside but the inside is soulless and in many cases painted breeze blocks.

We were happy to use it while it was there, but not actually pay for it ourselves.

I could never understand the business logic in getting rid of that when we were still a league club. I think the Guinness Stand was required as the Mem didn't meet the minimum seating requirements when the rugby club were in the Premiership. And the capacity didn't actually change - capacity had to reduce elsewhere in the stadium to compensate. And the rugby club paid for it. So I'm guessing that's the business logic - I didn't agree with a lot the previous owners did but I can see why they didn't want to take the cost of retaining it when it was no longer required.

I could never understand the business logic in getting rid of that when we were still a league club. The two stand extensions were paid for by Bristol Rugby when they were a Premiership club. Planning was approved on the condition that the overall capacity was not increased. The only gain was that both clubs could charge extra for the seats opposed to standing.

Both RG2 Gas and Northville Blue are correct, that was my understanding of the Guinness stand as well.
A lot of people like to sit at football matches (myself included), and considering that for the last few games the seats have been virtually sold out, despite the fact that the crowds have not been close to capacity, then I would argue that providing more seating at relatively low cost would make business sense. It would also fill that ugly gap quite nicely.
I guess it all depends on timescales for the new stadium really. If we are talking 2-3 years then why bother, if it could be 5-6 years then I would suggest we do it.

More than a hint, the proposed increase was mentioned in the article but the new owners have overturned the planned increase.

More than a hint, the proposed increase was mentioned in the article but the new owners have overturned the planned increase. Fine, but the text used is "... I believe that plans were in place ..." and so in my view it is a hint, if people believe that there were plans then there may well have been plans. As an old boss, full of nonsensical sayings, once said to me, "If it hasn't happened, it hasn't happened." Deep stuff, and that's how to become a boss! Not excited either way, but glad to see no rise, the dream continues.

Change the badge and unleash the Pirate Nation Looks much better than the current badge, he now looks confident, relaxed and perhaps a little shifty, where the original pirate looks a bit camp.

Install some decent hand driers in the toilets, for a place where they serve hand held food they are a disgrace, and probably break hygene rules. Hand driers now considered to be less hygienic than paper towels. And less environmentally friendly!
