Hi
I was supposed to be going to watch Southampton v Chelsea this weekend but got let down. Now my wife is unhappy about me taking the kids (12,10 & 8) to the wycombe game, not having visited their place before I wondered if it was a wise move due to the I'll feeling between us?
Cheers

Wouldn't worry. It's Wycombe not Millwall

Lol I'm thinking more of the atmosphere in the rovers end rather than anything outside

Lol I'm thinking more of the atmosphere in the rovers end rather than anything outside They'll hear some bad words, and I wouldn't stand them at the front because the hoardings between the fans and the pitch have a habit of collapsing at Adams Park but other than that I think it'll be a run of the mill game.

The fool (t0sser) behind us in the south stand taught them all the words they are likely to hear the year we got relegated, thanks pal! Thanks for the info

It should be an enjoyable day out.
They don't like us, but they are too polite to do anything about it.

When we won to avoid relegation I parked up in an unofficial car park in the same road as the ground for a fiver. Wycombe had a beer tent & food stalls and a small football court for kids outside the ground. Good view from the stand as well! One of the better away grounds (give or take the odd lightening strike!).

If you fancy a drink before the game best avoid Bar 95 in the White Horse . It's a eye opener ,but definitely not a family pub . ?

No it's an all covered stadium, it's reference to the lightening strike game. Never had a problem there in all the years I've been, most of their fans have always been willing to chat on the way in or out and you'll hear no more bad language in our end than you would at the Mem. Should be perfectly safe for them, if the result goes against us you'll be more likely to have trouble with our own fans than theirs, there'll be a better atmosphere at our game too and your children will become better grounded. Safe journey

I took my kids who were 14 at the time and one of them got so excited he joined in the pitch invasion !!! It was a great day but unfortunately a false dawn.

We went the year we got relegated. They were giving kids free ice creams before you went in. It was a good day out but the car park beside the ground took ages to get out, worse than oxford this year. Oh and there was the chap that ran on the pitch to celebrate and ran up to Ollie Clarke (I think) and slid straight through his legs and took him out!:-)

Parking is a bit of a mare. You're better off parking well away from the ground (sort of round Highwood Avenue / Arundel Road area) and walking in. Found a really nice little country pub just a little further from ground - the Squirrel. Quiet, good beer garden, friendly locals. New Road (A4010) left into Fernie Fields and it's 1/4 mile at the end of the road. Avoid the Hour Glass nearer the ground - absolutely rammed and not child friendly. Despite our numerous 'issues' with Wycombe - never seen a hint of trouble from them.
