If you fancy a drink before the game best avoid Bar 95 in the White Horse . It's a eye opener ,but definitely not a family pub . ? I am going but the Mrs is really unhappy about it. The white horse is one of those perks when doing an away game. Sophie is genuinely livid. I asked if she wanted to come with us but she didn't speak for 3 days lol

She knows I won't stray but she gets so upset when I go to central chambers and urban tiger too but I go to boxing nights with a group of friends that I've known for many years and one owns both places & so we go to the clubs as a sort of after party. Sophie can give me the silent treatment for a very long time but she has to understand that I need bloke time. How can any man keep up the polite and restrained thing ad nauseam ? This is the sort of thing that keeps me polite with her.

Don't shoot the messenger but I've heard a rumour that the white horse pub is still open on match days but without the girls! Aprarently they don't start working until 7pm now! It would be pretty rubbish if this were to be true as it makes it a more entertaining day out! Can anyone clarify if this is the case?

The one place not to take a family is, of course, The White Horse where I work, because anyone under eighteen years old isn't admitted. That's because we have 'exotic dancers' performing from just before 1.00pm. Everyone else is welcome - there's a big range of lagers, BT Sport and Sky on the TV and some stunning dancers. NO ADMISSION CHARGE but if you watch the dancers then it's a £1 in the pot and you can have your own private dance if you wish. The pub is on the A40 West Wycombe Road about a mile from the town centre going West towards the ground, about a twenty five minute brisk walk. Some parking, more nearby. Post code is HP11 2LR, but if the satnav plays up leave the M40 @ Jct 4, follow signs to town centre and at the bottom of the big hill with a series of dodgy roundabouts bear left onto the A40 towards Oxford. (Ignore signs for A40 until you get to the roundabouts) Look forward to seeing all our old friends from Bristol!

Simply not true: five or six 'exotic dancers' here on Saturday from just before 1.00pm, although the pub will be open from 11.00 or so

There are many reasons for disliking the club and its players, whether it be the lightening cheating, Tyson coming out of the players' entrance smirking and admitting he had cheated a penalty, the bloody drummer (sorry have to swear when mentioning a drum)... etc etc, but it's not a bad day out. Like most away trips you need to know about the parking/pubs/chip shops and so on, and creation you are wise to take advice. Wycombe used to be the archetypal family club and frequently won plaudits for the pitch, but things have changed although it is one of the safest grounds particularly if you park nearby. In the past with my kids I have parked in the official car park (at a price and on a steep muddy hill) and waited for the cars to leave by standing by the changing rooms for the players to come out getting the odd autograph.
(My number 2 son was a Rovers mascot at Wycombe and could not have been treated nicer.)

loads of free parking away from the ground. 10/15 min walk. all wide residential streets.
Not a bnig away following expected (still not sold out). we hat ehtem. they have a few people who realise we hate them, but doubt most of them even get it anyway.
pretty much a nothing match in that respect. the real beef is on the pitch. a BIG game for us in that respect, espeically when they have lost 3 home games out of 4 and we are hardly in sparkling form either.

Tickets purchased eventually, took 3 calls and a non returned voicemail (I assume they were busy selling tickets). The best thing the club could do with our new found wealth is implement an online ticket system that once it has your email will automatically send out details of each game home and away will a link to the ticket office. That should generate more business!
