I can't help it, I'm trying to be positive and I totally want the club to succeed, but I can't shake the feeling this is to be good to be true.
Reading between the lines it seems UWE is not a formality for the new owners, and I worry we've swapped a bunch of incompetents whose heart was in the club for a bunch we know nothing about. What's to stop them selling the ground and buggering off?
I know I'm a miserable sod, but I am desperate to see something impressive from our new owners other than just some well chosen words. An unsuccessful Swansea chairman, Coventry City's accountant, and Watola as CEO isn't quite the stuff I was dreaming of before today's events.
There, I've said it. I'm as worried about the future of the club tonight as I was last night.

What's to stop them selling the ground and buggering off? They have paid the debt apparently, so how much profit from selling the ground and buffering off?

I think we all share the same doubts, it's in our blood unfortunately. That's what a lifetime of letdowns does to you.
The new owners cannot do worse than the previous board. We moved back to Bristol in 1996 under a wave of optimism. Over the following 20 years, that has gradually been eroded to the point where people have lost faith.
The lack of development in our ground in the 20 years is appalling. I am hopeful we will either see the UWE project happen, or a gradual rebuild of the Mem. I would be happy with either option if I am being honest.
I think we would have gone out of business, so anything is better than that...

They could sell the club's assets and wind it up. Not saying they will, but they own it, they have no links to Bristol, so they could do what they want.

I'm a bit wary.......but I'll sleep on it. Nagging away are: Watola still around as CEO New FD was at Coventry, who have a recent chequered history in financial matters (coincidentally TW is a Coventry fan) The new chairman's interesting past. Dripfeed info that the other consortium involved Gary Mabbutt I'm sure all will be well....................

The fact that he is a well respected man in FIFA (non paid) is making me think that Nick Found a willie wonkas gold ticket. Then bring up the fact of his education and money, well I honestly think as gasheads we have found the man the club has been looking for. Thanks must go to every single person that has supported the club since the day it was founded, be that as a supporter, staff or a director.

Yes it may be too good to be true, but when Higgs was taking us down a very expensive garden path is this a risk given the family is of high wealth?

I'm concerned too (probably an understatement), but we have a big fanbase given our position in the league, and that must have been part of the draw - nobody with any savvy buys a business without considering the existing 'customers', and now it's a done deal I'd like to think they'd be smart enough to realise that pissing the fans off to the point where many of them jumped ship would leave them with a business that was a totally different shape to the one one that they'd originally bought. Having said that, I've got enough beers on board to have forgotten the original question, but I'm not totally concerned. Eighty percent concerned, maybe. As for the original question, are we talking Jordean People's Football now, or Jordean Popular Football? Did Higgs haggle over the price? You've got to haggle. He's not the Messiah - he's been a very naughty boy. 'Always look on the bright side of life...'. Or something

I hope when things go wrong the new encumbrance act swiftly, and our dysfunctional turns into function for all. Most of all, I hope there is engagement with fans and supporters. I wonder, are we seeing the first bone fide Gloryhunters in the true meaning of the word?

I do have concerns, particularly about Hamer, I would love to know his version of events about what happened on his watch at Swansea. I thought Wael Al-Qadi spoke eloquently, and seemed a decent bloke, but only time will tell. BTW I have a horrible feeling all the hype around yesterday makes Morecambe a very good bet at 9/2 today!

They said they will pay of the debt gradually over time. Presumably the 3m to Wonga to start and then the rest is directors

Can't see him on the list of club contacts and personnel. www.bristolrovers.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=440134
