Hey morning Kaiser, firstly I wanna say I thought you were better than some of what I've read this morning? I've enjoyed talking to you before, and I'm surprised that you seem to be so angry about this, it's pretty obvious that, on a rovers forum, you would expect some excitement and anticipation of new stadium, and better times etc, Bristol has two, not one, very well supported teams in their respective divisions, and 7,400 is very respectable for league 2 as well you know. When City have AG fully redeveloped and we've got a finished new soulless south Gloucestershire bowl we'll both fill it-should we be anywhere near where we both want to be I'm sure. For perspective of our crowds down here I refer you to the two seasons City spent in the basement division: 1st season: 4,500 approx ave home crowd, promotion season: 7,100 approx ave home crowd. So it's all about the diction we are in and the state of the facilities that draw us bristolians in isn't it?! Valid comments Nick. I'd like to think I'm a level headed guy. I am in most things and a fair cynic in a lot of subjects. You've picked out the one post where I could seem rattled but in all honesty it was just absolutely laughable some of the utter drivel I've seen which is beyond any semblance of reality.... We are a Championship football club, we are an entire division (a difficult division as well) between us. Yet I'm reading by some idiots how we are about to be passed at a rate of knots?! I mean really? Also I'm not one for attendances but to also have a comment asking on our attendance when you're getting less than half what we do normally. Just a tad bizarre is it not? I mean even a lightening quick look at the last home game. City v Ipswich - 15,736 Rovers v Morecambe - 7,400 That's 47% of ours. Like I said I don't care about crowds but fk me to have someone ask about ours with those stats. Jesus Christ.... I understand your frustrations Kaiser I do, but it's the main reason I don't look on your site OTIB anymore because for every reasonable City fan, yourself and some of my mates included, you get a lot of twats with very little to argue with except to say, "my teams bigger than your team" etc etc, no facts, no context, so my advice would be share your honest views about the Gas for a genuine debate, but accept there will be some ridiculous wild speculation along the way?! I hope you stay commenting on here by the way, just ignore the silly stuff.

I hope you stay commenting on here by the way, just ignore the silly stuff. The one that genuinely makes me laugh the most is the perpetration of the myth that Rovers stole the mem. I have confronted many with the real events and have led them to links where they can read the true story but they don't want to know. I think what this is, is them trying to rationalise their disgraceful behaviour in 1982 when there is nothing comparable at all. I do also think some of our lot go on about the 1982 dealings a bit too much. None of us can blame the younger fans over that side of the river but there are many of the older generation that should be ashamed of how they intimidated their own players & yet they will often parade a few of them. I was truly shocked when Geoff Merrick told the story and he is still angry about it now. How I wish I had taped that interview.

Weird that we suddenly can't move for s***heads on this forum. Almost like they're worried about something I have noticed a couple of new members and I wonder if it's been spotted that some are Teds ? I actually enjoy Kaisers posts as they tally, very much, with the reasonable Ted friends that I have. I think this forum is the better place for teds to join up and use as the other one would just be full of bile towards him.

I've not seen any of my Teds since the takeover sadly I don't really feel I can gloat as such because we don't really know the extent of our new wealth yet. Even if I did I won't be gloating until we've beaten them on the pitch, why blow your load too early right?

Last time I heard that song it kinda stopped halfway through when Joe Bryan smashed the ball in the net and it got drowned out.... I do think you might like to post this sort of stuff somewhere else pal because there is no way on Gods earth that you sure going to stop us thinking that at last the playing field is level.....and mark my words - will will be coming for you & yes we will get you! Up the Gas.....the very tinpot, ragbag Rovers that so concern you. Now owned by a fabulously wealthy and very nice family.

Spot on SBL seems a fair few have selective memories. It wasn't that long ago that many were posting the computer mock up of the proposed new stadium and really making a huge fuss over it. I did try to advise the ones that I know, to just stay dignified and look how that turned out. Live seen memes made up that say we are the oldest, wealthiest club in Bristol and it really is the gift that keeps giving. Like you, I have experienced one too many false dawns and so I keep my head down but at least now I can allow myself to dream a little more positively. I've been called a killjoy over this takeover but, in my mind, I think I am just being realistic, given the many things that have not come to fruition.

I have mixed feelings personally as I have always kind of enjoyed being the underdog. I love to be able to say that we have managed to survive despite our board. There is that very British feeling of cheering on the underdog & it now seems we won't be that anymore & there will be high expectation. Hey, don't get me wrong. I am overjoyed that we now don't have to worry about admin and having to sell everything and I hope to see the owners sort the club out in so many ways. I will enjoy having a more professional outfit, one that will maximise the many unique selling points that we have. I guess that I am one of those people who love the fact that attendances went up, when we got relegated into NL. I lobe it that we really do have our Rovers back and I am proud that our fanbase turned up in numbers. My hope is that the new owner really does understand the ethos of being gas.

We were the oldest club in Bristol by 99 years last time I checked City's website.

Congratulations after 2 good wins you managed to take a massive 2330 to MK Dons for a championship relegation 6 pointer. What happens to the other 10000 of you on a Saturday. When you have a decent home attendance then we might listen. 7,000 fans at home?! Seriously.... Comes to something when your latest advert for Bristol Sport puts Rugby before football at Trashton Gate Mind the gap !

But, does it really matter ? That is what I'm saying. I enjoy clever banter but the stating of our heritage is not something that gives us any advantages, not as I view it. The 82 ers really do seem very upset about the Al Qadi's buying us out though. Many were really hoping we went into admin and this has certainly put pay to any possibility of that happening. The MSP saga can be consigned to history now. I really do enjoy the witty banter and they do posses a few that are capable of that. I have some close friendships within that club and I have had some fun with them over the years. I guess I am just too old to hate anything or anyone in that manner now. I genuinely would like it for both clubs to thrive. I've seen several seasons where, if they have done comparatively well then it has been seen to spur us on and vice versa. Fact is, we would have a rather dull experience if they didn't exist, that's how I see it. I have a lot of Celtic friends and when I ask what it's like for them, sans the club formerly known as Rangers, they openly admit that they don't feel the buzz anymore. I think that having a rival is a good thing.

Having a rival is brilliant. Thing is, we haven't been true rivals for a very long time. I think they probably miss the derbies as much as we do. The chance of getting those back in the not too distant future would add definite spice to seasons. My initial thought when I heard we were being taken over by 'money men', was similar to yours. I'd sooner we succeeded through endeavour than through money being thrown at things hand over fist. But, having heard the interviews with the new owner and chairman, I fairly quickly overcame those worries. From what we're told, we are going to have a properly run club that will survive pretty much on its merits and work its way up accordingly. What we were facing previously was oblivion imo. There's a happy medium between that and buying your way to the top, and I hope that happy medium is where we will be aiming for. City, to my knowledge, can't claim that. So we still have the moral high ground - long may it last
