Ive see a lot of gasheads gloating on city forums etc. this is not good, it brings us down to their level and its like reading entries from city fans. we dont need to say anything, just shut up and let them think what they want, but please, lets not sink to their superiority complex level, this is why non bristolian footie fans generally prefer us to them, dont ruin it.

Agree 100%.
We have not won or achieved anything but avoided a horrible death via administration.
In a few years maybe...

Understood, but it's not everyday that something like this happens to us. We are used to bad news so a little euphoria may not be a bad thing. We will be back to our usual selves soon enough.

Me personally I am really excited, and believe this to be an amazing opportunity. Whether it makes us any richer or better than Bristol City is irrelevant to me. Only time will tell what happens on the football pitch. Bristol City are in the process of sorting themselves out off the field, and now it is our turn.
It might, for the first time in my life, give us a bloody fighting chance to compete!

We dont have much to gloat about yet.
Sounds as if they have money but not mega riches ( relatively speaking of course) but they have access to finance and what it can open up perhaps with UWE or somewher else
Sounds as though want to grow and progress the club and arent going to be steamrollering anything, which sounds positive and hopeful
Of course time will tell and what slowly / ove time means

I just watched the BBC Points West news, and they were saying quite the opposite as regards the ''family fortune.'' Of course the BBC could have it hopelessly wrong, yet again. It wouldn't be a first, but I would be interested in your source, purely for comparison.

Maybe that was just Mr Al-Qadi down plsying it

I thought it implied that his family was worth more, and that the figure reported was his wealth. Have they not just spent over 1 billion on HSBC shares?

They did go into it in greater detail, but it was all so far-ranging (what with the father and two brothers an' all) that I couldn't absorb it all. But it does seem to me from what has been reported that there is serious money there, how much of it will come our way remains to be seen though. But at the very least we can thank the new owners from saving us from the ignomy of going ''bust.'' We are still BRFC 1883. I just hope that the quarters are retained.

Apparently the asset worth of the bank is 1.7 billion dollars.
Obviously they could have money all over.
Its all a bit confusing.

Did I mishear, or did she say they own the Four Seasons? A bit up from the Beeches. Nice place for a team overnighter next time we're away to Orient (or PSG). I wonder if they do mates' rates for fellow shareholders.

Thank goodness for that, the last thing we want is another owner similar to that lulu at Cardiff City, ours is obviously intelligent enough to realise that changing the colour of your shirt isn't going to provide you with any advantage.
