Reading a few of the threads I thought that it might be helpful to make a new one on the subject, so that we're all singing from the same hymn sheet . . .

he interviews well. Doesn't come across as a jumped-up chancer, which is a very good start
blithers on a bit about the fans, but that's standard for managers and anyone new to a club. Looks, maybe strangely, delighted and privileged to be President. Also clearly a football fan, and a bloke people would enjoy having a drink with. About as much as we might reasonably expect from what the Irish might call a 'blow in'

Can he handle his Jaeger?
How does he stand on Blackthorn vs Thatchers vs Natch?
Questions need to be answered

think more probably he sometimes wears Jaeger, is related to Queen Vic, met Thatcher, and has a desert 'Thorn on his family crest

Messers Al-Qadi and Hamer both came over very well and relatively grounded about it all.
Guess we wait and see

We all know that success has to be bought these days, but even spend spend spend doesn't come with a guarantee, so it's definitely a case of wait and see!

I was quite impressed by both interviews. No rash promises, and they appeared to have done their homework.

I've read on here this afternoon that there is an interview with the new Chairman, Steve Hamer. Well I can't find it anywhere, so if you're the same as me here it is, and apologies in advance for double posting if I have done so . . .

Have to say the more I hear, the more positive I feel. Only just catching up with all the threads (who said the forum was dying). I expect the link to Geoff Twentyman's programme this evening has already been posted, but might as well tack it onto this thread to keep things neat and tidy - www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03h9hwm

I was impressed that Wael knew about Darrell's use of different formations and tactics for home and away games and dependent upon the opposition. Good knowledge! Can't remember if it was the club interview or the BBC interview but either way, he clearly is interested and understanding of what Darrell is trying to do. Hopefully he doesn't take a hands-on interest in the team selection and tactics though!

Some things I've learned about Steve Hamer today:
- Schooled at Wells, and coached by Georgie Petherbridge there. - Played in the same Trowbridge team as Geoff Bradford. - Played for, and managed, Corinthian Casuals.

Here's an article on Steve Hamer from a few years back from a Swansea City supporter. Good and bad in the article. I have to say I like Wael based on his interviews and his biog but I'm not sold on Steve. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since his Swansea days of course but it isn't exactly a glowing reference. www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/swanseacity/news/21148/a-chairman-elect

He was in his answers. Need new stadium, UWE is an option. Getting in the right players, youth the key. Seen the mistakes of other owners I'm just reading this as good in that it's not flash the cash for success.
