Delighted to have your investment in Bristol Rovers and give the club the opportunities it deserves. I really hope your investment is repaid. Thank you

I find Higgs' departure strange, perhaps he realises there is no chance of winning the court case - strange timing though.

He also runs a consultancy helping white collar criminals prepare for prison. The jury is out, for me.

Going to wait and hear his first interview and what the family have planned for us. Not convinced that Hamer is the right man but I take it they know each other.

Given that we would agree on much previously, I don't feel as you. I think that that football club ownership is so much more than a rich mans toy. This is a family investing, with strong football links and a healthy financial vehicle that can be utilised. This is not a wealthy lifelong Bristol rovers lottery winner splashing the cash with misguided optimism. I suspected the thrill of small investment in a city that is one of the largest in uk, and has no premiership club, along with the PR opportunities that it brings for the investing family and it's associated businesses.
Let's agree on one thing - bristol rovers is now well backed. Football clubs eventually need cash to succeed , this investment now might allow us the opportunity of sustained success.
Football is a risk and these people have invested in Rovers - nothing wrong in thanking them for that!

Was happy this morning hearing of the news. It is clear to everyone the now old BOD couldnt take us much further, and maybe would lead us into administration if the sainsburys deal didnt work out.
By the looks of it the Al-Qadi family seem quite respectable, with the son involved in some FIFA projects, however this guy Steve Hamer??
A quick google tells you he was incharge 1997-2000 when Swansea were s**te! Since he has started a company advising white collar criminals on how to survive in prison.... hmmm
Cant judge a man on a reign as chairman near 20 years ago, or the fact that he ran a business that on the face of it looks a bit suspect, however im sure there is a business for that sort of consultancy, like it or not, people will pay for that sort of advise. So in a way he found a niche and tried to milk it, which at least shows some business skills.

Bit wary when there seems to be liitle info on figures Is this the time to go heavy on numbers? not sure, its not everyday a football club is bought out. I guess a lot of the investment will depend on the Sainsburys trial. They may want to keep their powder dry to potentially release good news with the bad of the defeat in the courts?

As they have a 92% shareholding, I assume GD was happy to pledge his shares to the new group.
If the deal has been signed, it will be an interesting AGM without the "old order"

The others just glad of a pay off, odd though none of them wanted to hang around other than GD, what do they know GD doesn't?? We now have a club run by a family with no prior knowledge of the English game, a rookie but decent league manager and a chairman who's been out of the game for a few years. Let's hope they soon bring somebody in as CE etc.

Pretty much as expected as soon as money became available the directors were happy to run...........
Exciting times ahead lets hope, with new investment and hopefully a lot of enthusiasm from the new owners - onwards and upwards

Delighted to have your investment in Bristol Rovers and give the club the opportunities it deserves. I really hope your investment is repaid. Thank you I really hope your trust is repaid. Based on history of foreign investment in other football clubs, I'm a currently bit more guarded. Hasn't done Manchester City much harm. I think we should be optimistic. Think you get dodged people all over the place, some might end up owning a football club. The New President seems alright.
