Now that's out of left field.
Great short term signing.

nothing to lose on non contract terms,,, He still gets his wages etc so not a pay when you play type of deal. However this contract allows us to terminate when we see fit, for example if he gets injured or just doesnt perform. So yes, we have nothing to lose and he has to perform every time to earn a proper contract. Win win for all then.

Its interesting to see that he has been training with us for a month or so. Personally, I agree with letting Harrison go out on loan anyway if Darrell knew he wasnt going to get the minutes that Harrison wanted. But knowing Rory Fallon was already at the club training and a non contract deal was offered and most likely knew it would be accepted, that most likely sealed Darrell's decision to let Harrison go out on loan and get the minutes on the pitch that he wants and needs, knowing we have Fallon available to step in.

Someone's having a laugh on his wiki page;
"Rory has just joined Bristol Tinpot Rovers as a tea boy."
Spelling is correct so rules out the 'teds....

Now that's out of left field. Great short term signing. He's not played a competitive game since October 2014 so not sure it can be considered great at this stage.

A terrific signing at 6 3 will lead the line well and be an attacking option as he is a good header of the ball.
Rory Michael Fallon (born 20 March 1982) is an English-New Zealand footballer who has previously played for Barnsley, Shrewsbury Town, Swindon Town, Yeovil Town, Swansea City, Plymouth Argyle, Ipswich Town, Yeovil Town, Aberdeen, St. Johnstone and Scunthorpe United. After originally representing England at youth level, he has been capped by New Zealand at international level and scored the goal that took them to the 2010 FIFA World Cup. He was born and raised in Gisborne. His father Kevin managed New Zealand over a four-year period in the 1980s.

I really like this kind of thing, we get an experienced player fighting for a place, lose nothing if it doesn't work out, and helps keep the squad on their toes. So refreshing.

I'm swimming against the tide on this one and jury is well and truly out for me.
I'm kinda naturally swayed against journeymen, but as it's non contract terms, am happy to be proved wrong.

That's interesting - has always been one of those players that is tenuously linked to us at every transfer window for some reason. You never expect those guys to actually sign!

Looks as if DC is doing all he can to keep us in play off contention without breaking the bank!
Interesting he was training with us for 4 weeks, and EH still went out on loan, think this shows the loan move was more to get EH some game time, as he was probably getting frustrated by lack of chances, DC did the right thing by allowing him out on loan knowing we had Fallen waiting in the wings if needs be.
Doesnt look like we have much to lose with this signing. Brings good experience to the squad. We do however have an increasingly strong bench, with the likes of Gosling missing out completely in recent weeks. Good competition for places though, which has been the case for the past 18 months really.

A Kiwi eh? I wonder if he knows JeffNZ and Paul Nixon. Well, he might do. Welcome to the club Rory, but then again if he's been here for some time already then that's probably an unneccessary thing to say. But it seems to me like a canny piece of business by the club.
