Come on Gasheads it's time to stick together and get behind the boys, they need our support NOW!!

You're right it is time to get behind the club. Give DC a chance with the squad he's putting together. I'm hoping for good attacking football with loads of goals for the Rovers. It's going to be difficult though, as a lot of club will view going the Mem as a cup tie. I reckon Rovers will be the team to beat. Well not necessarily the team, but the club. It's going to be hard, so I hope the fans get behind them.
I'm actually on the other side of the world so I won't be going unless I win the lottery, but if I was in Bristol I'd have a season ticket.

Come on Gasheads it's time to stick together and get behind the boys, they need our support NOW!! It's certainly time to get behind the football squad, DC and his management team, and the new signings. As far as the club goes - and that means the Board to me, I still wait for good reason to do so.
Despite living ~140 miles away, I was a season ticket holder for a while when we came back to Bristol, even though I didn't go to enough games to make it financially sensible for me, and then Helpline after I stopped the ST , for the reasons you give. I've recently cancelled Helpline because of a lack of respect for Supporters and the ridiculous answers given by the Board at the SC EGM, especially that the Board do not feel that some outside independent review was not appropriate after the debacle of last season and the last five or six too, and the alienation of the fan base through closing off communication. When the board show some signs of taking on outside/expert advice and moving forward then I may reconsider.
I'm a bit concerned about your forum name "Con"clubgas - you're not NH in disguise trying to con us are you?

As Gasheads we all want a successful club, no question. You will find some have differing views on how to achieve that but your phrase "it's time to stick together" resonates with me.

With little over a month before the campaign starts, I have to agree with this, plenty of negatives have been written/said (including from myself) But we really do need to try to channel some positive vibes to DC and the team, the club needs a positive aura about it.
As fans we need to change our way of thinking for this one, no blind optimism, its gonna be a tough season, we have to relax and let it pan out, enjoy it, I have a feeling it could be a roller coaster ride, we no longer are the big boys, have we ever been?
That is not to suggest we forgive and forget, its important that a good professional (as can be) campaign continues to change the way this club is run, another issue we may have to be patient on.
Onwards and upwards??

I think the very reason Jon, Mark and I, and also the BRISA gang, are doing what we are doing is because we are behind our club. If we didn't care we'd be finding something better to do with our time! When I'm on the terrace I support the team; no booing or abuse. But as a fan since the late 50s/early 60s I can see that as our club is now in the Conference something is very wrong and needs to be put right!

I am going to join the share scheme as not only does it provide the club with much needed finance, it will give the supporters club a significant stake in the running of the club.

Join the share scheme, but one thing it does not give is the supporters club a significant stake in running the club. The way that scheme was run was the main reason I lost faith in the board. I was a founding member of that scheme.
I have presumed Pessimist your posting was not 'ironic'.

If I come to the Mem to watch the games I am there to support the team and not the regime - all well and good. But...... it's obvious that the BoD will take a good attendence on match day as support of their regime - they're too sodding arrogant to view it any other way......

I don't think there's any way you can support the team 100% and the BoD 0%. That's the problem here. You just have to follow your own nose and/or hope that someone comes up with as good a way as possible of max' support for team + min' support for BoD. Personally I like more than a few others would not go to the Mem' but would rather go to a few aways over the season. I understand fans who don't agree with that, as I would have been one of them until I just saw too much of what those scammers are about. The sad fact for me is that the only language they understand is a significant drop in matchday revenue.

I'm sorry I just can't justify spending any more money on this utter trash. The relegation was the final straw. I may go to the occasional game but I just can't be a regular anymore, nothing has changed since the relegation, we will struggle next season and I cant afford/stand watching another season of struggle. If things changed I would come back, sadly can't see any change happening.

Support the team 100% by attending matches if that's something your able to do or want to do, and although being at the ground will support the regime, you can cut that right down by not using the bars, not buying programs, club merchandise etc etc. Food & drink can be easily found from plenty of places outside the ground and i never read the programm anyway because it cost's too much money.

It would be great if we could focus all our energies on supporting the team, but if OUR team is doing nothing but failing (and you can argue easily) for the last FOUR seasons then surely you have to question a.) something behind the scenes is very wrong and B.) do you want to carry on spending your hard earned money supporting this continuous failure.
The Board announced there would be an Internal Review (they also said this after relegation from L1) which would address all the problems and put the club back in shape and so ready to bring about a change in our fortunes. It is NOW JULY and there is no news on this front. The club won't even explain who is carrying out this review specifically and what aspects of the club are being reviewed and they certainly haven't told us if and when they will announce the findings. So should we just carry on as normal, managers retained and other staff, players leaving and coming. What is our plan going forwards ? will the club put in place some kind of footballing philosophy, like for example at Exeter, so there will at least be some continuity in how we are going to get ourselves back up the leagues ? Hmmmmm ! I wonder ?

I haven't been much, in the last few years, due to family reasons but if I'm honest that's a easy excuse. If I really wanted to go, and part of me does, then I'd find a way. The trouble is the more time passes, the more this BoD does that distances me further from the club. For those that can separate the two and just enjoy the football - good on you. I'm afraid I can't do that and whilst I am sure I'll still watch the odd game here and there (although I'm struggling to see where that may be this season) it's going to be a while, if ever, before I invest in a season ticket again.
