I thought this match would attract most posts as (unless you're new) I imagine everyone would have opportunity to visit this venue before!
So many memories. Hilarious antics. Mostly involving a mini bus, copious amounts of alcohol and company that is and was, great.
Not even gonna mention the one I missed courtesy of Thames Valley finest escorting us to road away from Manor Ground only to gleefully announce away end was full. Grrr..
Then the debarkle on way home....helicopters, the lot. We must've been terrorists (?).
But fun times... Shark fins and ladies legs protruding from roofs, fabulous Nathan Ellington showing everyone how to score and Timmy Mallet walking past us outside bowling green! Surreal away matches where something happened to talk about for a long while..
More recently, Eliot showed them how to score from a free kick and a twice taken penalty is my only match attended at Kass..
Have you spotted Timmy Mallet?
Safe journey, Gas. Bring us back 3points and the Gas will raise the Roofe..

Timmy Mallett actually fell down the stairs by the board's hospitality, so blink and you'll miss him!

In the late 60's the supporters coach dropped us outside the manor ground at midday. Gates were open so we had a little kick around in one of the goals until spotted by the groundsman and "asked to leave"! Think we lost 4-1 that day?

I saw the pre-season friendly on 24/07/1999 at Oxford City.
We won 5-1. Team was Kuipers, Pethick, Challis, Foster, Thomson, Tillson, Mauge, Hillier, Pritchard, Cureton and Roberts.
Can remember the ground but nothing about the game. I have the original program in "mint" condition, apart from the above players numbers marked against their names.

Andy Rammell :-), the 6-1 defeat :-( and a 0-0. Scuffles in the car park.

My last visit was the 6-1 hammering in the league cup. They were fresh out of the conference, we were fresh from being relegated out of league 1.
Just one of many gutless and pathetic performances that season.

I have lost count of how many times I've been to the Kassam, but I also experienced the high of the Andy Rammell win and the 6-1 cup defeat and many others in between. We might have even won a couple along the way. Entirely forgettable ground and the police normally do their best to spoil the day out, too. Not a favourite trip of mine

... or Headington United prior to 1960.
p.s. Timmy Mallet has changed his colours. He used to go to watch Wycombe Wanderers with the now Bishop of Bristol, who at the time was a vicar over Bucks way.

A few memories of this game. Earliest was our two nil win in 2004, had not been living in Oxon long and all I can really remember was taking the piss out of passing the OUFC team coach on the way home, then to make the journey even better passing a broken down fans coach in Swindon, the look on their faces as I passed with a rovers scarf flying out the window.
2010 and our dire result in the league cup, then being told I had to walk towards blackbird leyes, finally convinced a police officer when I showed him my ID card and driving license that was not the way I wanted to go, got escorted to my car!
The best one though was on 9th Feb 2013. A friend from the pub I was running got us three vip tickets to go in one of the Oxford boxes. Alan (RiversGas) turns up at the pub, we get to the stadium and true to form Alan is wearing a Rovers top, OK so was I under my coat. We avoid the trouble in the car park but we had to get to the main stand and walk through Oxfords fans bar, the look on the stewards face when they noticed we were gasheads was funny. The box was great but the VIP seating is above Oxford fans. Comments made before the game about Luke McCormack and the fact that Sean Rigg was playing for them. Game starts and all good banter well it was until the penalty was awarded to us, Alan jumps up and starts cheering, fans around us look at us in disgust (the front of the box reads Oxford Fencing proud sponsor of Oxford United) The Alan punches the air after Lee Brown scores. Half time, more beer. I can remember saying that we need to watch out for a certain Alfie Potter (always thought he was better than Constable), well in the 2nd half it was all ohs and ahs well until Elliot Richards sealed the win. Great day out with some good mates and a win.
Can't make Sunday as I am on call for work, however we will win 2-1.

Andy Rammell game - after the match the police rounded up Rovers fans in the revolving door of the Holiday Inn with a police horse!!!! You had to see it to believe it!!! There was definitely a horse in the reception!!!
Almost as funny as a police horse in the stand at Chester away in the 80's!!!
Magnificent!!!

My first Oxford away game was in 1975 - a 2-1 loss if I recall correctly.
Since then, there have been highs and lows, but mostly highs..
My son Jamie's first game (aged 4) - 5-0 with Jamie C scoring 3 or 4. My son thought we were singing for him. He's 21 now. Little did he know that he would never see us win 5-0 since that day.
Also a 1-0 win around the same time. It was all ticket, and we had to go in with the Oxford supporters. My elder son was understandably concerned with my reaction when Steve Foster scored the winner, as were some of the locals...
Andy Rammell's match.
One of John Ward's early games, when he saved us from the gross incompetence of the McGhee era.
Also some downs (the 6-1 defeat was only matched by the 1-3 at AFC Wimbledon). Tunnicliffe must have been our slowest defender ever - although Regan came close...
All in all - Oxford Away has been one of the more interesting fixtures over the years.

I have been to The Kassam 3 or 4 times, but I have lost count of how many times I wen to the old place. The first time was a night match in about 81. Terry Cooper and just been sacked, and I seem to remember John Kayes was in the ground getting up a petition to complain about that. I got the train up with a mate, not realising the train station was miles from the ground. We didn't have enough money to get a cab to the ground, so we walked it and missed most of the first half, when we did finally get there the turnstile operator cheerfully told us we had just gone one down. I'm pretty sure we ended up drawing 1-1, but my abiding memory was the train journey back. I was about 16 or 17 at the time, and a skinhead. I had tied my scarf around my body and then covered it up with my jacket (red tab Levi, probably worth a fortune now) to avoid any problems with the locals. Unfortunately for me and my mate a couple of Oxford blokes were on the train and looking for Rovers fans, and somehow sussed us out. Looking back they were absolute w****rs, they must have been double our age and realised we were easy targets. they sat opposite us, telling us how they chased City all around town a few weeks before, and asking which Bristol club was 'hardest'. Then one started egging on his mate to kick my mate, but settled for ripping my jacket open to grab my scarf . I was seriously thinking about pulling the communication cord, but they ran off as we were pulling into Didcot with my scarf as the prize (burning stolen rivals scarves on the terraces was a bit of a thing back then, so I assume they were happy with what they got). Never liked Oxford since, and I still think about it very time I'm on a train passing through Didcot Parkway, which weirdly enough happened today!

Just one of many gutless and pathetic performances that season. Remember the game well, we were still in League 1 and Trollope was manager. What a season that was! Can still remember getting laughed at for predicting we'd be relegated after that game.

I can remember a game in the early 80's when at the final whistle all the rovers boys decided to have a riot in the back streets by the ground. Some started rocking a parked car and eventually turned it over on to its roof. I was told at the next home match that the car in question was actually a rovers fan car, not sure how true that is though.

Went with some colleagues and took a Scandinavian customer with us. It was one, if not the last match for Nathan Ellington .. Rovers ran on to much applause, Oxford ran on with Paul Moody out last. Two rather aggressive looking and well oiled rovers fans just bellowed at the top of their voices 'Moody you f**king W**ker' he turned around looking rather bemused and waved!
Our Scandinavian friend was beaming with delight 'now I know I am at a real English football match' he was thrilled. I still see him a few times a year and am usually greeted by him booming 'Moody you Fuc..................'

I remember the old Manor ground where you had to go through a narrow alley way to get in the away end (a recipe for trouble) which was a caged-in concrete terrace. We scored not one but two goals straight from a corner in one game.
