By that comment you appear not to have been at the game. The goal being conceded was absolutely nothing to do with Nicholls. I was gutted for the manager and players, they had put in a real shift with some outstanding performances from a number of players and in the atrocious conditions Nicholls did all he had to do including one shot that was dipping all over the place before he managed to push it away. We had more shots than them, we had more shots on target than them, we had more corners than them and according to the Exeter fans I spoke to we played far better than them too, we certainly managed the conditions better than they did. We conceded from a miss hit cross and a miss hit shot....I'm getting fed up of people constantly blaming the goalie when it clearly wasn't his fault I had written a long post, on what does it take for us fans to genuinely be happy enough and enjoy just going to games. I read it and then cut it, kept it in my little black book of musings. It was far too self indulgent, I think lol i remember, when we got promoted to league 1 & most were very happy but that soon gave way to the perpetual moaners, I know I am critical now but it wasn't always so. When I first joined the old official club forum I was actually voted best newcomer and most positive poster, believe that ! i think that even if we did achieve championship, we would still have many that felt we were not doing enough and it made me wonder just where others would like us to be and if they would be happy with that ? For me, it's L1 & being in with a chance of promotion each season. I saw how much more aligned we were, when we got relegated to non league. It certainly made me realise that it really doesn't matter what league but that we are seen to be successful within that league. Personally I feel anticlimactic about this season as I hoped we would use the boost for last year and be right up there by now. I know that is definitely a high expectation but other teams, teams that have fewer fans and a lower fan base, have managed to get back to back promotions, so why couldn't we ? It seems that the blame culture has emanated right from the top of the club and this has had a trickle down effect within the fanbase. I now see very little that separates us from that lot down the road and when some get their teeth into an individual player, they can be relentless. I would just really like to enjoy going to games and get back to hearing the gallows humour that attracted me to Rovers in the first place. A question to all of you, where woukd you like us to be and be happy with it ? I want us to be in the same league as the 82`ers for the Derbies, if we went up this year and they came down and we were both in League One next season.. i would be Happy with that.

That's fair comment. I've always loved the Derby games and it always makes the season more exciting. Seems like another lifetime since we had a league game v 82 ltd

Personally i dont care what division we are in. Main thing is that you are able to win lots of home games, ergo entertain/ reward/ keep your paying customers. As a kid at Eastville thats what i remember, a fortnightly away defeat was standard, and quickly forgotten by tea time. By the time triffle was served my only concern was Dr Who battling the Daleks. Iimagine you were delighted with relegation to the conference then? I don't think any of us would say that but I can say that it was very enjoyable and especially so after so many years of not competing, for anything. It was an adventure, that much is true, for me anyway. I just enjoyed having a fanbase that was more united that it has been for many years and it really did give us our Rovers back. Embarrassing ? Yes. Belittling ? Yes. More than anything, for me, it was an humbling experience. One would think that we were due something decent happen, that is if you believe in karma and the balance of all things.
