It sounds that our expectations are now so low we have to accept diabolical days like today by saying it could be worse. It's no real wonder the owners of the club get away with their mismanagement of the club. We really must be collectively the most docile fans in the country. Or I suppose it could be worse we could be a collective coma.

When Barry Hayles runs around more and faster than Jermaine Easter did then you know something isn't quite right!

We will be in better places. Today was not good enough by any standards. I don't think anyone is dressing it up as great. The mismanagement of the club has gone on before I was born, will continue unless we have revolution. That's way it is. I can only apologise as I'll be there v Carlisle Utd..

It's embarrassing and will be for next 48 hours. But if I keep away from Internet and TV esp FA Cup related matters then by mid week most of world will have forgotten about it. More long term one issue that needs to be resolved is keeper. I think Nicholls is ok but so was Mildenhall and am not too sure why he isn't in team. Also we need to be pressing more at home and be far more offensive. Not too sure what answer is. I trust that DC will find an answer and hope it's pretty quick. I feel as bad as most of other posters but it doesn't even come close to going out of the league after Mansfield. I think I'll go into Rovers related hibernation for the next 48 hours and hope we can beat Southend! UTG!!

Steve K has it spot on when he writes below. I think it is as bad a result as we have ever witnessed in terms of national competition, being at home and the gulf in league position. Please quote me a worse Cup result for BRFC than this. But for some of you, it's no big deal. ***** In truth if it wasn't for the away results I think today we would be saying goodbye to DC because it was probably as low as we have sank today as a team but the real worry is that he does not seem to have any ideal how to rectify our home form as he plays the same game and then makes substitutions that don't really change anything. I know people will come on here and say we can't push up to the half way line because we have no pace at the back but today that was total nonsense as our opponents had no pace whatsoever either. if Dc is going to be here after Christmas (which I do hope he is)he is going to have to change his approach soon because once the fans faith in him goes with continued poor home form then he is halfway out of the door. A bad worker blames his tools and at the moment that is what DC is doing to cover up his own inefficiencies. Read more: gasheads.org/thread/4166/par-bath-city-last-year#ixzz3qwKPAru1

Its our worst ever FA Cup result by some margin, but its also no big deal. We weren't going to win the cup. We've gone out of the FA Cup at some point every single season since the dawn of football; we just did it at the earliest opportunity this year.
The reaction is staggering!

Let me get this right one more time for my own sanity - "It's no big deal" losing at home to Chesham (75 places below us)?

Lets give up now then. Not take part in any competitions cus we are never going to win anything. Losing to a poor team from the Southern League is just awful. As is our record at home. But thats ok then.

Let me get this right one more time for my own sanity - "It's no big deal" losing at home to Chesham (75 places below us)? Its not a big deal. Its the FA Cup, this sort of thing is supposed to happen. Some people even call it 'magic'. Obviously its not supposed to happen to us but watch the highlights, look at the stats and look at the blatant foul on Easter that the ref chose to ignore. It was a cup upset, fair play to Chesham who were absolutely rubbish but did the important bits (kept it out and scored a goal), I don't mean that rudely and I wish them well in Round Two, but it really isn't a big deal. I was far more pissed off after the Newport game than I am tonight. Good luck with your sanity

Can't see many lower league chairman agreeing that it's 'no big deal'. Win today and we were one win and Lady Luck away from a financial windfall. It was a crazy defeat and a huge opportunity missed.

Losing to a team that I hadn't even heard of until we drew them isn't embarrassing, well not for Rovers because we have been relegated out of the league so now anything goes..losing at home to the bottom team Newport 4-1 is acceptable..and looking back I can now see that the 9-0 at Spurs was actually quite a good result....such is the Mad Hatters version of Bristol Rovers world.

Losing to Chesham is dire, I completely agree. But if we win next Saturday I won't care about today anymore.

Would rather beat Southend on weds, then two games from Wembley. Could have got Rochdale away 2nd round and made bugger all.

Let me get this right one more time for my own sanity - "It's no big deal" losing at home to Chesham (75 places below us)? Nope. That sort of attitude is why Higgs got away with getting the club relegated from the FL.
