There doesn't seem to be much publicity about this so just a reminder that the Bristol Rovers Supporters Club 2015 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING will be on THURSDAY 8th OCTOBER @ 7.30pm. bristolroverssc.co.uk/2015/09/19/agm-reminder/Two observations................. There is mention in the insert in the SC News of 'following posts to be advertised'; and this, I understand, includes BRSC Director ( currently Mr K Masters). Unless I have missed something I don't recollect anything about nomination papers being made available. Also....this meeting is usually followed by a Q&A with the chairman and, often, manager. I wonder if this will happen this time round. It's only a couple of weeks away!

Is anyone allowed to attend? If not will people be told? If not will people be called liars despite attending?

Important stuff like Membership Fees and Amendments to Constitution........................ Nothing else going on is there? Could vote for a new SC Director and ask about the 'Consortium' if you felt like it!

So Ken for another year it is then. Reading the constitution is hardly fun: bristolroverssc.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/brfc_rules.pdfAfter note: Thanks Bath Gas, you have to read the constitution first, it is not written in the notices for the AGM in the Newsletter and website.

Thanks Bath Gas. I would be interested to know if 5.1.1, 5.1.2 and 5.1.3 were fulfilled this year. I certainly don't recall any posters, announcements; and can find nothing for recent YEARS on the site. I am happy to be mistaken, but seek assurance.

However as I am no longer an SC member I wouldn't receive a newsletter, or indeed pay any attention to any announcements.
The accounts this year will be interesting. I assume the sale of 199 will be included in this financial year

I hope so but I don't know so. I'm an SC member and I'm at all home games, arriving about an hour before the game. I've heard/seen nothing. I'd be really pleased if someone came on here and gave chapter and verse that this post was properly advertised according to the constitution.

Thank you...so that's 5.1.2 Now for 5.1.1 and 5.1.3. The requirement in 5.1.1. to advertise the role in the newsletter was clearly not met in the hard copy magazine. Issue 43 (August 2014) contained statements from the two candidates (BSS and Rod Chapman) for the previous election. The next hard copy newsletter (Issue 44) was sent out in August 2015, after the closing date for nominations. However, rule 5.1.1. does not make clear whether "newsletter" means the hard copy or the electronic version. This link shows that an e-newsletter was sent out on Tuesday 3rd February 2015, albeit with some recognition that it didn't reach all BRSC members. Link to "did you get the BRSC e-newsletter?"I didn't get a BRSC e-newsletter until August - I didn't realise I should have received one until early August - so I can't confirm whether the February communication contained an advert for the role. I assume it did. For 5.1.3, I vaguely remember announcements over the PA about the election, but can't prove it!!

Thank you Ann. So they didn't meet the 31st May deadline for announcements as per 5.1 then, which only gave a 14 day timescale max for people to submit applications. Not that I can imagine that would have made any difference to the number received.

Not that I can imagine that would have made any difference to the number received. We'll never know. If all the requirements for the advertising of this post were not met then the election should not go ahead. You either abide by your constitution or you don't.

Will Higgs be there for the Q & A? he normally is and so it Toni Will this count as one of the 'Regular Q & As' we were promised? If not, maybe one of the Qs should be when the next (i.e. second) of the 'Regular Q & As' will be.

So, no enlightenment yet as regards correct notice given for the election of a Fans' Director; especially 5.1.1. and 5.1.3. As regards 5.1 notice was not given by 31 May, but appeared on the SC site 16 and 22 June; giving barely two weeks notice! (There was nothing on the OS, it would have been around P 43.) There was no SC newsletter. The now annual SC News had an insert giving details of the meeting and of nominations ALREADY received. I saw no posters..............
I know what a cynic would think.................
