If anything that Sainsbury's sell is better or cheaper then I'll do what's best for me and shop there. If you wait until after one of the 'protests' you'll find lots of goodies in the discount bins.

Why not protest against the people that led the club to failure and thought of the new stadium as a last resort to pay themselves back for lending the club money and wasting it? harsh about the stadium - we badly need this or we could even get smaller and smaller ! Our stock used to be Champ/ League 1 and now its L2/ The Conf !

Our stock used to be Champ/ League 1 and now its L2/ The Conf ! Nah, I agree with Dagnogo. Just because we build a shiny new stadia doesn't mean we'd have the gravitas to attract any other business opportunities.. A blip in our existence is all the conference was, I'd imagine it would be easier for us to fall into again should a red herring called UWE have appeared on the horizon. I'm actually glad this is all over, my ideal scenario would have been some sort of compo and stay at the Mem, but I guess we will have to make do with foolishly accrued debt and the Mem. An important part of my football experience/tradition is a walk up Glos Rd to meet my dad at one of the pubs, like I'm sure its similar for you all - I'd have hated walking along the ring road to go to what is essentially an overpriced student union bar!! OH, EDITTT!!! In regards to a protest, the best protest we can make is to sing "We all hate Sainsbury's" for 90 minutes any time we're on TV !

The first stadium plan, fully funded, with all protests dealt with and planning permission sorted was handed to Higgs on a plate. The next one, who thought of it? Look Higgs in the eye and ask him if it was his idea.

There is no harm having a Sainsbury boycott if a all rovers fans who shopped in Sainsbury stopped it would reduce the companies revenue by a fair few million per year. Eventually reaching the 30 million they saved on squirming out of Memorial Stadium deal.

And that was around the same time Redrow built the first of many houses on that development. Around 6/7 years ago?? Maybe longer, the memory is fading!! The Mem development tho wasn't that cut and dried to be fair was it?

it is a shame the Rovers board wasted so much money in the past few years on looking to build a new ground. If that money had been spent on the Mem we could now have a stadium covered and with more seating it would perhaps look more like football stadium than the cross between a Rugby and cricket ground with its odd looking stands. Higgs and the board need to forget about getting a new ground and start channeling their energy and funds into improving the Mem and the playing squad.

You people are weak
j S Sainsbury have manipulated contract law to the full, and the judge has just gone with the big corporate v little guy.
Screw moving on, why not a war on sainsburies.
Get your backbone and get revenge. This isn't a minor disagreement. This has cost out club big time. They are to blame. Not Higgs. sainsburies are to blame. Reneged.

Should we not be directing some, if not all, our angst and anger at Radish and TRASH. A fine double act of prats if ever existed. My understanding is that without them holding us up then we would have been looking at seating plans right now. How about some anger directed her way?

Get your backbone and get revenge. This isn't a minor disagreement. This has cost out club big time. They are to blame. Not Higgs. sainsburies are to blame. Reneged. Rovers drafted a crap contract and Sainsbury's took advantage of a legal route out of the contract, the worst thing that can be said of Sainsbury's is that they weren't as diligent at preparing an appeal against the planing refusal as they might have been, but that was not the finding of judge. Rovers legal team was led by a QC, a rank attained by an elite few, so I struggle to swallow this argument that we lost because it's some fight between David and Goliath. The fact we allowed this to go to court when we probably could have negotiated an amicable settlement a year ago is yet another failure that the BoD should be help accountable for. Fact is, Sainsbury's owe us nothing, they have a responsibility to their shareholders, they have a responsibility to obey the law, they do not have a responsibility to act contrary to their own interests in order to help Bristol Rovers Football Club. We are not entitled to any sort of revenge or restitution against Sainsbury's, to argue otherwise is childish, petulant and uppity. The BoD on the other hand do have a responsibility to the club, they have failed to act in our best interests and they are to blame. Not Sainsbury's.

But why you would want to cause shop staff inconvenience I have no idea, they are just trying to do a job to earn a wage. Best not remove anything perishable from the shelves unless you intend to purchase it.

Well how else were they getting it back? Answer me that.

Why do you keep posting this? As landowners I doubt that Higgs would have turned down an increased offer from another buyer. In this instance Sainsburys are going ahead with the store so we would look a bit silly manning the picket lines with different slogans on our placards.
