I think that most people expected this news. Hopefully DC has it covered.

That's a real shame, Monky was great for us last season.

A big shame, really consistant and an experienced and pretty sensible player. Sad to see him go but my guess contract offers to potentially fringe players will not be overly generous.
Thanks for helping us get back into the FL Bob and best wishes.

Our most underrated player last season. Formed an excellent partnership with Browner. Pretty gutted he's going to be honest.
Best wishes to him.

We've lost a good player and an even better bloke who was one of a few that helped transform the attitude of the dressing room last season. Glad to hear he enjoyed his time here and his efforts & goals last season will certainly help get him a decent move up north next season, where he can move back home to his family.

Loved the guy but how many times did his passing let us down? Wish him all the best but it's onwards and upwards now!

Definitely a loss - promotion teams are made up of a nucleus of solid pros performing consistently over 40+ games. Will be a hard act to follow

... how many times did his passing let us down? Hardly ever. His decision making about a pass and the accuracy of his passing were among his great strengths. From memory: - involvement in the build up to the first goal at Chester
- ditto to the only goal at Telford
- the pass to Brown enabling him to cross for Lockyer to score at Grimsby
- the run to the bye-line and pullback for Blissett to score at home to Macclesfield
- countless other examples with Brown overlapping (admittedly, not every one ended in a goal)
- more direct passing into the channels for Matty Taylor and others.
He made a giant goalscoring contribution (ten goals, including the two at Dorchester). My favourite moment was the fact that he started celebrating Ellis' goal at home to Braintree before he'd even struck the shot.

You what?
Monky is/was the best passer of a football since David Williams.

Ditto. monkey just lacked a bit of pace, excellent passer, good football brain.
A warm reception at the mem is assured should he ever return. Top bloke.

So a winger or two (or three) is now top priority.

Thanks AM, enjoyed watching you play, intelligent footballer. I can only think DC wants more pace?

Yep, IMO Monky had a really good solid season, shame he is not coming back, and I wish him all the very best for the future.

Thanks AM. Helped transform the dressing room and to those who didn't rate him, sometimes you don't realise how useful some players are until they ain't there!! good luck AM, I hope you'll always get a good reception if you do come back in the opposition. Last season was massive and he played massive part in it's ultimate success. But... Onwards and upwards. UTG!
